Open Finder. Select Applicstions folder on the sidebar. Select the version of Capture One you don’t want. Right click. Move to Trash.

I think is a good idea to say that Capture One 23 is the "older" 16.2.x and the Capture One is 16.3.x. David if you don't wish to use the 16.2.x anymore I would deactivate the licence within the programm before you erase it. Or you make it later in your Capture One account in the plans and service management.  I myselfe keep the 16.2.5 on my computer beside the new version.

When a new version is available and you drag it into the Applications folder, there is a popup panel that gives you the option of keep both versions, old and new or delete the old version.

Its usually a good idea to keep both until you are happy that the new version does not cause any problems. As stated above you can use the Finder to delete the old version when you are happy with the new one.

In this case not because the new 16.3 has a different name. Earlier Capture One 23 and now Captuer One.

Thank you Brian. Thank you Peter. Thank you LVS.

When I dragged the file to Applications, it displayed a progress bar briefly and then the dialog box disappeared. I waited about 2 minutes and nothing happened. So, I updated again. The second time it asked if I want to keep both and I said no. Well, they're there now, so I'll follow the advice you all have given and I'll keep both. I thank you all again.
