impressions, bugs and slowness...
Ok, just updated to 23? Pro 16. whatever it is called now.
Few days impressions:
Immediately feels slow. Not snappy. Especially in bulk files with reciepies on top of them. I am on M1 PRO 64 GB of Ram. Same session with 10k files worked flawlessly in 22 ver. Now its... just not fast. Especially when it comes to white-balance and some color-balance tabs - just seeing lags, slow response. Sometimes they there, sometimes they are not... but makes you conscious about it. If I close the session, close the capture one, re-open it - usually solves the problem for first 5-10 minutes. So something happening behind the hood?
Capture One freezes after my Mac goes to sleep and than waken up - 8 out of 10 times. Idk if its os problem, or capture one. But I did not have it on 22 ver.
Cull feature is super slow. Useful but it is so slow, that it is faster for me to just go through the images in normal mode. Also images shown without recipes and corrections on top of them? Needs improvements.
I tried with and without Harfware Acceleration... Hardware acceleration on Auto seems like works better for me.
Common guys. At least give me speed on par with 22 ver.

What model of mac? What hardware configuration?

M1 MAX 64 RAM. Ventura 13.
I just woke up my computer again with session open from previous night, and immediately c1 froze. Its already 4 or 5th time. Thus motivating me to write here... All sessions are on fast ssd-s, and it never happened with c22.
Should I upgrade to Sonoma? If C1 shows better performance there - I will.0 -
I would not upgrade to Sonoma. Better to change as little as possible while this is being diagnosed. Make sure you open a support case.

I have experienced slow performance on v.23 too, on both a M1 MacBook and a M2 Mac Mini. Mainly, the adjustment sliders are agonizingly, painfully slow. I am aware that not all users have this issue (oddly) and for months I tried to find a solution. I submitted a support ticket to C1 and did not get a response. I tired many suggestions I got on forums and nothing helped. I’ve gone back to Lightroom, which performs perfectly, but keep checking back with C1 to see if an update improves things.

give this a try :
Clear the ImageCore cache by deleting the folder (then restart Capture One). For macOS users, navigate to Hard Drive -> Users -> Shared -> Capture One -> ImageCore (version 12.1.5 and earlier) or Library -> Application Support -> Capture One -> ImageCore (version 20.0.0 and later) and delete it.
