Capture One Pro (16.3.3) is now available to download – fixes tethering issue on macOS 14.2
Hi everyone,
I'm happy to announce we've been able to react quickly (thanks to your reports and discussions around this topic) and implement a solution to the tethering issues that affected users running macOS 14.2 – Capture One Pro (16.3.3) is now available to download.
Please see the release notes for further information about what's included.
Thank you as ever for your patience and for your feedback.
Kind regards,
Team Capture One

Jack W There's two issues here. The technical issue, which although not your fault, could have been mitigated, and the comms, which was poorly managed, IMHO.
I understand that the 14.2 RC came out late on Friday. Back in my IT Management days, I would have had a tester on standby (yes, even out-of-hours) to run a regression test on my paid product's key features, so that if any major issues arose, I'd be able to immediately communicate with my Customer-base (this would have been a "push" communication, rather than expecting them to find an online post (which by any measure wasn't exactly prominent).
Given that 14.2 released at ~6pm UTC on Monday, there still would've been plenty of time to send out an advisory email.
So, in summary, I don't believe you could have fixed the fault much quicker than you did (Very impressive Incident Management; Adobe haven't fixed LrC yet), but in Problem Management terms, I'd certainly be looking at my testing regime, and what level of Bug/Incompatibility/Incident triggers an urgent email communication, to improve service moving forward.

Jack W Thank you! Appreciate how quickly this has been resolved.
Sorry to go all ITIL on you, but presumably you guys are moving this from Incident to Problem Management now, to see if you could have managed the testing and customer comms better?

FirstName LastName We reacted within 48 hours with an update, which I think is pretty quick. We're always looking to improve, however – so let me know if you think we could have reacted quicker or what method of communication/platforms you'd prefer.

I am uncertain whether Capture One has certified it, but I have 14.2.1 on an M3 MacBook Pro and Capture One 16.3.3 is working fine. Others may have a different experience.

John Cannon , Sonoma 14.2.1 is not yet officially supported. It might work if there are not many changes from Apple in there, we are currently looking into it, to be safe I would wait a bit before updating. Hello Walter Rowe, a user is mentioning that Tehering not working in Sonoma 14.2.1. Have you tried tethering? How it works for you?

Sergi Salillas – I have not yet tried tethering in 14.2.1. I'll try that today.
