    Hi Edwardsson

Just wondering if you have received any information as I'm wanting to upgrade from a 2017 MacBook Pro that struggles to keep up with my Sony A7R4 because of the file sizes when tethered.

    Thanks

Being a PC guy this might be a stupid question for you: Is there a difference in how long the hardware will be supported by OS updates?

Rather a very good question. Since these models came out in the same year, albeit with different processors, I think both will be able to handle several years of OS updates.

I'm also in this hunt, a rather urgent one now... any updates? Looks like there are no M2 machines with enough RAM available now, so I'm forced into the M3 realm.

I got a MacBook Pro 13” M1 as a gift when my oldest son upgraded his work computer to a MBP M3. It was just what I needed. 16GB RAM and 1 TB SSD.
