Default Catalog
Hello,
I'm a new Capture One user transitioning from Lightroom. I have two questions about the program's behavior:
- Default Catalog: How can I prevent the default catalog from opening on startup and instead have Capture One open with the last catalog I used?
- Closing Behavior: Why does Capture One display a prompt to open a catalog even after I close the program? Is there a way to exit completely without this additional step? by the way i use mac
Thank you for your assistance!

Capture One should open the last catalog that was open when you quit Capture One. If you have only your last used catalog open when you quit, then that catalog should automatically be opened the next time you launch Capture One.
It sounds like what you're doing is closing the catalog before quitting Capture One. When no catalogs are open, Capture One displays the "which one do you want to open" screen. If you quit the program with no catalogs open, then the same "which catalog do you want" window shows, and the window will display the last several catalogs you accessed.
So try this: close all of your catalogs. Then open only your preferred catalog. Now Quit Capture One without closing your catalog. Hopefully when you relaunch Capture One, it will open your catalog. That's worked for me for years.

When Capture One is open click the Window menu on the menu bar. The bottom of the Window menu will list all the open catalogs and sessions – (aka "documents"). You may have multiple "documents" open and not realize it. Choose the document you want to focus on. Once you switch to that document there is an item in the File menu to "Close Other Documents".
There is an app preference to "open documents in a new window" (allowing multiple to be open at once). Disable that to ensure you only have one catalog or session open at a time.
