OS Sequoia
Anyone update to Mac OS Sequoia—is C1 16.4.5 behaving?
Thanks!

Hey, my mac updated today to Sequoia and now I can't tether to C1. Running 16.4.5. I'd hold off!

Anna,
Besides tethering, are everything else working? Masks, export? etc... Thank you very much

Can confirm it's working OK with Sonoma 14.7, for those who need the security updates.
I love the Capture One app, but I really do have a massive issue with the business when it comes to OS updates, such as Sequoia.
Apple releases Betas galore for months before final release. There's certainly plenty of time for CO to regression test and AT THE VERY LEAST issue a courtesy email to it's customers (they've got all our email addresses), either saying we're good to update, or a clear message not to - preferably with the issues clearly stated, along with a rough ETA on a fix. Paying this much for an app subscription surely deserves not having to navigate this (pretty opaque) forum to try to hunt down an announcement!
But no, despite the Sonoma 14.2 issues, it's still radio silence from the company. It's not a cheap app, and Adobe manage to not break (or fix in good time) their tethering. Despite advice, CO doesn't learn from their mistakes. Before becoming a Photographer, I spent 30+ years in IT, including all aspects of testing and customer comms. I'm available for consultancy, because this is yet another fail.

upgraded to MacOS 15 Sequoia. IMac M1. Nikon Zfc and Nikon Zf. CaptureOne 16.3.8.23
Until now no problems, tethering with both cameras works.

C1 is in testing and should be ready by the end of September..c1 post from social media

I'm currently using Capture One 16.4.5.29 with Sequoia on an M2 Pro Mac mini and an M3 MacBook Air attached to a NAS that contains the catalogs and the referenced files. I'm having lots of problems with not being able to load my catalogs, or they hang when trying to navigate with in them. Capture One fails with "I/O errors" on both WIFI and Ethernet connections. Previous to Sequoia I had no problems with either configuration. I have also tested it using a small catalog that is local on my MacBook Air and it seems to work without any problems. I haven't tested it fully as I'm just trying to compare the ability to open and navigate within the catalog successfully.

I'm still waiting for the email communication that they are, again, not ready for the macOS update. It's bizarre that this is not communicated to the customer base through the proper channels.

Tim Trautmann - I don't know whether all users would agree on what the "proper channels" are. However, there is an announcement on the Noticeboard section of this site that states what the current position is.

Paying Customers should NOT have to hunt round on a web forum for information that may or not even exist. The proper channel is email.
The onus is on CO to ‘push’ the information out - not the other way round.
I will die on this hill.

Many people unsubscribe from emails. Emails can end up in Junk folders.
Contrary to what some believe email is not a reliable way to reach all users.
You CAN subscribe to the NOTICE BOARD here on Capture One Forums.

Then that would be their problem. If they unsubscribe from informational comms, or can’t check spam.
Are you seriously positing that as a justification for not sending out information?! That’s a ludicrous argument.
CO doesn’t seem to have a problem sending out Sales emails…
You are trying to defend the indefensible.

I for one was unaware of the Noticeboard section of the forums. Now I’ve gone and looked, yes, the notice is there. Perhaps it should be more prominently called “Announcements”, as at a glance one might assume it’s some kind of member-to-member chatroom.
The obvious place for this information is in the Release Notes, which has its own prominent link and was where I first looked. Apart from anything else, putting it in the forums gates it behind a login.

So, the Announcements thread was posted 3 days ago. But MacOS Sequoia launched 5 days ago.
Radio silence for TWO DAYS.
Then an announcement, on a gated community, that requires Customers to know where the post will be, so they can subscribe to… checks notes… get an EMAIL.
Where is Change Management? Where is Release Management?
And where is Problem Management? How many complaints does CO need, before they look at their communication practices?
It’s not like it’s even more work. They already have the email list. They already have the mechanism to send emails to Customers. They have access to regression test all the Beta OS releases, including the RCs.
Oh, and even if Customers unsubscribe to Marketing emails, the company absolutely has the right to send out URGENT communication emails about technical issues, related to purchased products.
Any half-decent Test Manager, working with a half-decent Release Manager will be able to craft a communication based on the circumstances, that avoids Customer pain - some people will upgrade automatically because they need/want the OS security patches, some will upgrade because they want the new OS features, and there’s enough evidence here, and on other Social Media, that a TIMELY communique could have avoided so many issues.

Just to chime in on the conversation, I completely agree with so many of the comments above: there is no excuse for C1 not being ready on day one of the new OS release, or at least communicating clearly to everyone about the issues and plans.
Other “small” software companies, such as Carbon Copy Cloner, issued updates or beta updated the are designed for Sequoia on or before day one.
Lager companies, such as Adobe, anticipated the update (as everyone should have) and present no issues.
I know C1 is a small company, but the Sequoia betas have been out for months!

I agree, and I almost updated before I thought about searching C1. I never saw the post I was looking for. I am glad I found this forum. Not sure if C1 is for me anymore. I must think about this and test tethering my Sony to Lightroom.

Where do I find the announcement section? I'm on MacOS 14.7 and would love to know when MacOS 15,0 might be supported. Also, I have the very old, 17 month old actually (sarcasm) perpetual license of 2023 16.1.3.10 and am wondering for those who have upgraded to Sequoia if there's been any issues?

I upgraded to Sequoia before checking C1 status. Not a wise decision, though like others I assumed they would have been ahead of the game as all my other software is.
The one significant issue I'm having is that I can't import images to a catalog. The import window works fine, but when you click 'Import XX images', nothing happens. Tried with SD cards and images on the HD and no luck. When I switched to a Session instead of a Catalog, the import worked fine.

Thanks Ian, found it :)

And just to prove my point(s) above, CO send out a vitally important email to announce that they now support 2 new cameras that 3 people own. 🙄

I believe this quote from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy sums things up:
“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a torch.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes, I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying, ‘Beware of the Leopard.’”2 -
I am SO tired of Capture One constantly sh*tting the bed. It's always something. If only they were as professional as the people using it.
