SO SLOW NOW...WTF?!
I recently upgraded to a new iMac M4 with 32GB of RAM, 10 Cores, OS Sequoia 15.2. Running C1 Pro Version 16.5.3.1 1TB of free space on a 2TB internal SSD.
It should be smoking fast...however.
For some reason, it is lagging like crazy when trying to do any adjustments on images. I have tried everything I can think of from reducing the preview sizes, to rebuilding the kernel and deleting the image core files and restarting, even turning off Hardware Acceleration. No luck.
When doing adjustments as simple as exposure changes, it takes between 1-4 seconds to apply the changes to the image in the preview window. The thumbnails seem to come in a bit faster, but still much slower than I have experienced on my older Macbook Pro M1.
Is anyone else having the same issue? Any fix?
Thanks.

Same issue here with a new M4 Mac, and previously with an M2 Mac. The adjustment slider lag eventually got so annoying I went back to Lightroom.

Just an idea, prompted by one of David's videos, try increasing the preview sizes as your current size may be leading C1 to access the raw file with each adjustment.

Michael - I did try increasing, decreasing, and switching to recommended preview size…still having the same problem.

Odd, Matt. I have the same version of C1 on a stock M4 Mini Pro (so 24GB ram) and have no issues. I don't think that I am especially patient, so probably not just my perception that all is well. My edits atm are pretty simple: no layers and masks yet as I am just starting back with my photography and so just exploring workflow and tools. I'll push harder on a couple of images.

Michael - I have the same version on my M1 laptop, and there’s no issues there. It only seems to be on the M4 iMac that I have, which is technically supposed to be more powerful than the laptop. I’ve read in a few places that it could have something to do with 4K or 5K monitors, but I’m also running it on my BenQ that’s not 4K… so I’m not sure exactly why it’s going so slow. 🤷♂️
