This link gets me to 12.1.5, though I think you'll need to be logged in:

12.1.5.8 still not working to connect camera. 🤭

Okay...just tried the 12.1.5.8 update and a Canon 5D Mark IV still won't tether. Then tried the 20.0.1 update with the same camera; a pop up came-up for allowing Capture One to access the Apple Photos app. I granted the access and the camera appeared for tethering on Capture One 20.0.1. 🙄

so thrilled to hear your not just abandoning v12 in this issue as well. I've been sitting here biting my nails on whether or not I'm going to be able to use my new laptop on set since a lot of commercial photographers like to wait a bit before they upgrade to the latest version. I like to have a couple on my tech station at all times and figured I'd be forced to only using v20 with the new 16" mbp.

here's to hoping it all gets fixed though, sounds like its still a bit spotty?

Also, anyone know if this fix effects performance at all? What compromises were made to make apple security happy?

i have not seen much change in terms of performance, v20 seems a little speedier but nowhere close to LR....
i have had no issues at all with v20, really like the new sliders in the HDR tab

Allowing C1 to access Apple Photos makes it able to tether Canon 5D mark IV? What role does Apple Photos play in this? Could you describe some details about how to do this? The release notes just say tethering now works.

That's all the details I have... should have screenshot the pop-up. Capture One 20 was open, camera tethered, then I powered camera on, pop-up showed stating Capture One 20 to access Photos app and I granted Capture One to access. I know, it's very weird, Photos app has nothing to do with tethering at all; whatever it means, I can now tether to Capture One 20 but still not with Capture One 12.

We are still investigating this with Apple. It doesn't make much/any sense, but it unblocked tethering on 10.15.2.

Please contact Capture One support. You may be experiencing a separate issue from what most people in this thread complained about.

Allowing access works to connect my Canon 5D Mark III. The window that pops up does say C1 requires access to the Photos library to tether, but it also says, "This alert may also be caused by Capture One accessing your Library folder." It seems somewhat more likely C1 needs something in the library.

Installing latest C1Pro, restarting everything, running first aid on main partition and allowing permissions when opening Capture One fixed my issues.
