Ultra wide monitors

Does anyone use ultra wide monitors (21:9) for editing?

I'm wondering how nicely CO would scale the toolbars and if the monitors with a curve would distort the image too much.

  I'd be very careful, such ultra wide monitors generally aren't a good idea for editing...
  
  Most of those screens won't get close to Adobe RGB, the better ones cover sRGB though. There are some that claim to be 90% Adobe RGB but I'd suggest you read some reviews from trusted sources before you make a purchase.
  
  Due to the curvature it might be difficult to properly calibrate them with external devices (which mostly have to sit of a flat surface to deliver good results).
  
  If you're working with architecture or product photography or any other kind that would require precise control over lines and keeping everything straight and level, I wouldn't use a curved screen - but for portraits and landscapes, fashion etc it wouldn't be a problem.
  
  Glare will be an issue as most of them (if not all of them) have a glossy surface and due to the curvature you won't be able to use a hood so working on them could become very tiresome if you're not able to control the light source.
  
  Personally I prefer a solid non-glare wide gamut screen - even if that is closer to a regular 16:9, 16:10 or even 4:3 ratio because if you're not working with horizontal panoramas, you'll most likely waste most of the space available to you.
  I wouldn't want to edit portraits on a 21:9 screen, but to each his/her own.

  have a dell ultra wide love it but I do color work on a NEC so NO for edit yes for part of the system 😊
  
  for daily stuff they are freaking amazing
  
  you could do anything on anything these days and be OK if its not color critical as in product work ? even then you can but more do you want to once you work on higher end monitors its like OH OK now I see 😊
  
  I am going to get that new benq 27 inch one that is like $600 to replace my nec soon figure try it been hearing good things if its better then what I left will be happy and I save some coin over the NEC and get to try new things
  
  quite a few photographers are using the top end BenQ these days over NEC or Eizo

  I was also thinking about getting a BenQ but ended up getting an Eizo (got a pretty good deal on a Demo screen) mainly because of the fantastic support and much better contrast ratio (even when using the gray balance mode) and overall uniformity (colour and brightness).
  
  Also the power consumption is extremely good and I love the built-in calibration (which automatically checks its calibration after some time).

  Just realized Eizo makes a 1:1 monitor. 26.5" - 1920x1920
  That actually sounds more enticing for productivity than an ultrawide 😂
