BTW, this was the response from support:

If you wish to activate your full version Capture One click here

If you wish to deactivate your full version Capture One click here

If you want to activate your trial click here

Sigh. When you get the survey asking how they did make sure you tell them. Unless they are not sending that question are out any more. 😄

Curious: I have Capture One Fujifilm Express installed. I want to test out the 30 day trial (full) version of C1 Fujifilm to see if I want to upgrade or stay with Express. How in the world can I do that? TIA

Assuming you have not already run a test version of V20 ...

I think the following may be close to correct.

Bear in mind that V20 is the first time that a license has been required (that is an observation not a criticism) to run the free versions and a trial version.

Download for a trial and get the activation key.

De-activate your current free version according to the links in the reply from the Support Team. You can re-activate it again later.

Start C1 again and use you Trial activation key.

    Try stuff.

Do this with a new catalogue not your free version catalogue.

Have a look at the guidance in the links provided to see if there is anything important there. I would save a copy of your free version catalogue with a different file extension before attempting a trial if I were you.

    Run the trial.

If you like what you find, buy the upgrade licence of your choice and activate the program with that license key.

If you decide to stay with the free version, de-activate the trial and re-apply the Free version activation key.

Bear in mind I have never needed to do this but I think that is the way it should work (as an overview).

    HTH.

I think they still do, and I will! 😄

Hi Grant! I'll give this a try! Thank you for your detailed reply! I realize I'm a "free" user for Phase One but honestly, you gave me a valuable solution, peer-to-peer. Should I end up purchasing C1, I would expect support to provide the same level of service as you did.

    Thanks again!

I think the links Support Provided as shown in your post most likely are the ones you need in order to cover the technical requirements.

There may be an assumption (possibly incorrect) that having every activation type activation key driven from V20 means that people will be expecting activation to be required and simply need a guide about how to deactivate one type of activation and activate another.

Another line of text providing such an overview would probably be most welcome.

Of course I am assuming that the relatively straightforward approach I have outlined does in fact work in all cases!

So yeah, deactivating the Express key then reactivating with the full trial key is the answer. I guess I was looking for a separate download as opposed to just unlocking my current download with a new key.

Your help has been excellent, Grant. Thanks again.
