Have you tried right-clicking and adjusting the brush size in the dialog box that comes up?

In addition to Ian's suggestion ...

Zoom to 100% or more to see if the brush becomes visible (Very quick to do.)

Use the [ and ] keys to change the size of the brush. (Also quick for checking but will actually change the size of the brush.)

    HTH.

When you right click and adjust the brush, it shows the brush size (and it changing size as you move the slider) but as soon as the dialog box closes, so does the brush size, and you are just left with the normal pointer. The brush works even though you can’t see it. I’ve zoomed in, zoomed out and still no brush. [ and ] seem to adjust the brush size, but the brush doesn’t show up when you just use the keyboard controls. The brush and erase tools work normally, except you do not get the visual of your brush.

Ended up reinstalling and now working fine.

    Not sure what happened.

Thanks for trying to help me find a solution.

Sounds like you had unknowingly set the Layer > Mask Visibility control to "Never Display Mask" but also, somehow, lost the brush "cursor" as well.

Not Something I have seen before.

There may be a way of restoring without re-installing but since your problem is resolved and we don't know how to recreate it I can't think of a way to set up the problem and test any possible alternative solution!

Glad you have it fixed anyway.

I considered that, too, but was able to see the mask, no problem, but regardless of how I had the mask visibility set, I could never see the actual brush tool as I moved it around the image. As I drew I could see the red showing where the brush had been on the image, just no tool.

    Ah, OK.

All in all it seems like you tried all the usual possibilities so a very strange glitch.

I have seen the same thing one time. Quitting Capture One and re-starting brought back my brush cursor. Perhaps I was lucky.

I've been having this problem for weeks, and nothing has fixed it. I haven't deleted the app entirely yet, but it's absolutely infuriating. If I move the cursor into the image from the margins, I can see the brush for just a split second. If I change the brush dimensions, I'll see it for a split second, and then it's gone.

    Steve,

Have you created a Support Case to see if the Support Team has any suggestions to offer?

I am having exactly this issue too ... so it seems to be 'a thing'

It seems to be an issue unless the zoom level is set to 'fit' or is greater than about 140% ... at these settings the brush reappears.

I am having the exact same issue and am getting frustrated by it. Not sure how to correct it!

Is it possible that you have been working with a very small brush using a very large zoom in?

Do you see a small cross where you expect a brush to be?

We have 3 identical studio computers with the same OS and version of C1.

Only one computer has this issue. Has anyone found a fix?

    Having identical issue here.

Many good ideas above (confirm brush size isn't super large, adjust "always show mask" etc.) but none of them resolved my issue either.

Hope C1 can address this issue or share a solve. It's a big frustration!

I reached out to Capture One about this (ticket 78224) 12 days ago and this is the only response received so far

"As we are currently experiencing a high volume of incoming requests it may take a while before you get a response. We appreciate your patience and assure you that we are doing our best to reply as soon as possible."

This just starting happening to me as well in Capture 20. Quitting and restarting didn't help. Does Capture monitor the forums? This is a really annoying problem and needs a solution.

update: I restarted my computer, not just Capture One and now the target/brush size showed up.

Same issue here. Version 22 (15.1). No solution in sight?

Wondering if anyone has found a solution for this issue? I'm working with Version 22 15.3. Not feeling very hopeful as this thread goes back a couple years.
