probably best to duplicate the capture folder with finder and then let CaptureOne create previews.

I would be interessted in this aswell. Copying the raw files will probably to the trick, but it feels like a little overkill for this function.

@Pelle 9: you can select multiple image and create an additional variante of each image with one click. But then you have to sort out every second variante and put it in a session favorite / album.

    anyone else any better ideas?

Mass produce the copies and then, while they are all selected, add a keyword or keywords?

It is probably not ideal for the way most of think about the requirement.

However the variant edits (in sessions and I assume in catalogues as well) are all contained in the same file/(record) so the concept of "physical" separation into folders does not really apply.

Albums, most likely Smart Albums, would seem to be the best option at the moment.

On the other hand if you have "finished" product and normally send that to an output file you could name appropriately on output and consider the original image and edits to be an archive. In which case the identification of the individual variants may be less of a concern.

    HTH.

    Hi Grant,

thanks for the hint with the smart album. Using the keywords and a smart album works very good for me. 😄
I really need to forget about folders and start to think more in database-way.

    kind regards
