Respecting in-Camera Crop for Fuji RAWs
When I import GFX files into Lightroom the in-camera crop is applied as a crop adjustment (which can be amended as required) which is how I think it should be working.
Is there a setting I have missed that allows the in-camera crop to be respected?
Thanks
Phil

No, with RAW in Capture One you always have the uncropped image. 0 -
That is a pity; I would have expected the aspect ratio crop applied in-camera to the RAW to be respected (as it is in Lightroom) in the same way as color temp, exposure, etc. is.
Moving to C1 from Lightroom, I miss two key workflow items - Stacking of Images and respecting the Crop (as the composition in the field is formed using the aspect ratio in-camera; and then you have to rediscover the composition you found in the field possibily months later).

I would like to add my comments to this item. Respecting in-camera crop is absolutely needed and should be very easy to do. I would also like to see pano stitching and exposure blending.
These items would greatly influence my willingness to stay with Capture One.

I agree, the in camera crop should be respected as it is in Lightroom. It is a choice I make when taking the image and it can be difficult to remember it weeks after the image has been taken. In addition, it is important when doing documentary work, where the chosen crop across a large number of images is chosen when taking the image is an important part of the composition.

Agree. This is badly needed.

Bumping this up after a year. Respecting the in camera crop in CO is really needed.

this is really a crucial feature, and I do not understand, that the CaptureOne team does not react on this. If I chose 2:3 oder 4:5 in my GFX and want to see this ration in C1 too after the import. Any news on this?

At this point, I'm curious why Capture One does not want to make this change. We all know it can be done based on how other software works.
This request is over four year old and no response either way.

Agree, this is not hard to do. For some reason C1 folks are just ignoring it. Shows you if these developers actually use the software they develop. Sorry for being harsh. If you have a technical reason that this can't be done, then say it.

It de-accelerates my personal workflow. C1 recognise film simulations I used, when I import RAWs. But not the aspect ratio? It makes no sense. Urges me to use LR more often …

Must admit - being the person who started this thread - I gave up on CaptureOne due to C1 not respecting the in-camera crop as it simply impacted my workflow too much.

I do not understand, that the Capture One team does not react on this
Because six people have asked for it.
Feature request implementation is in essence a popularity contest, and this one obviously fails to meet the necessary threshold.

I support your protests and requests. I work with Fuji and the lack of this feature impacts my workflow very negatively as well, and I can't wait for it to be implemented

@Keith R, no, not because 6 people ask for this feature. It’s not logical to consider other camera specific much more complicated features, like the film simulation, and then ignore such a basic thing like the aspect ratio. As a software developer advertising with the Fuji brand, being part of every a Fuji camera sell, I would just expect having this feature implemented. The lack of it just causes a lot of unnecessary work.

I'm with you all. This is a simple ask. It is much harder to accomplish after the fact, for the photographer.

Come on Capture one this topic has been going on for years. Above Camera raw and light room respect the crop. Let get on with it.

Just purchased Capture One subscription for my GFX 100s and shot mostly in Camera with panoramic crops. Imagine my surprise when they disappear when loading into Capture One. That was, after i closed the window that keeps telling me "We are listening", after reading this thread I would like to say this issue affects me also and will prevent re subscription. Are you listening Capture One?

Please C1, at least give us the file with the crop we used in camera.

I've been on this thread for a while and this is frustrating. If I didn't have so much invested in CO, I'd definitely be moving on.
The worst part is that CO won't acknowledge this and tell us why they don't respect the in camera crop.

You need to go over to the ideas site (https://captureone.ideas.aha.io) and look for a corresponding feature request, then upvote it and add a comment.

SFA, not sure what's you're asking about Fuji's position.

It is the exif. LR just reads it and applies it. C1 can easily do the same thing but for whatever reason doesn't want to make this feature available.
