Searching with multiple keywords

When performing a catalogue or session search you can control click a number of ratings, color tags, a single keyword etc. and the multiple selections are combined in a logical AND way. If though you try to search using multiple keywords then the keyword selections are combined in a logical OR manner. You can go to advanced search and build a set of ANDed keyword search criteria, but this is slowish and it would be good to be able to do this by clicking multiple keywords on the keyword list. Is there a way to do this that I am missing? BTW, I am on Windows 8.
