While I cannot comment on future product development, have you tried our Capture Pilot app? It will get you some of the way at least.

Christian -- Capture Pilot is only for tethered cameras, correct? I'm looking for a LR Mobile-type app that functions with images imported to iPad via Apple SD Camera Connection Kit.

Thanks `Christian, of course I've used Capture pilot many times with capture one . However it always crashes and we have to waste much time going back n forth to the client to restart etc.

I don't think you were understanding me , although I though descibed the process well.

Tether straight to iPad , NO laptop . Either with USB or wireless. But not using full `Raws , either low/ mid res jpgs or med / small Raws .

Especially for location shoots when we have no power.

I see you can kind of do this with an IQ back to capture pilot ( without `C1 running on a computer) if I'm not mistaken ?
Can this be extended to wifi enabled newer 35mm cameras , like Canon 5D mkIV and Sony A7rii?

My thinking was this would be more of interim location solution, where we could review , and do a basic grade .
And then we would, sync this to the full Raws then imported in proper `capture one on our studio computer or laptop from hotel etc .

Did you try the lastest version, that came out a few weeks ago? Lots of issues have been resolved.

I did, but I can't comment on future product development, as mentioned.
You are most welcome to file a feature request with our Support to make sure your request is officially recorded.

Christian , yes I did use Capture pilot much more successfully on 2 shoots in the studio last week .. it only crashed a couple of times 😉
Seems much more stable and quicker than previous versions.

I’m sure myself and many other photographers are eagerly awaiting an IPad (Pro) mobile wireless solution, as loptops are a dying breed now . And I imagine in the next couple of years they will be seen as old fashioned and bulky items compared to the new super tablets.

Find it’s a shame Capture One isn’t on the forefront of this new technology , when it is the best Processor out there .
How many years was Lightroom behind on tethering etc? Yet they’ve leapfrogged C1 on the mobile front now hugely ..

I'd like to add my support for a C1 iPad Pro App.

I like the idea's in the OP's post, but I'd like it to be more of a full featured full sync mobile solution.
I'm really looking for software that lets me ditch a MacBook altogether, and do everything from an iPad and use the Apple Pencil for local retouching.

This was already a growing concern for me for some time now, considering Adobe Lightroom Mobile has been growing steadily and adding some great features. But after today's news that Adobe went full Lightroom CC and added a full sync solution and editing RAW files on an iPad, it's becoming painfully obvious that Phase One is falling behind in this category.

All said and done, I'm still not a fan of the way my edits turn out in Lightroom. I don't want to switch to Lightroom. But it's going to be difficult to stay with Capture One for much longer if it doesn't fully embrace an all mobile workflow in the future.

Thanks for posting this. Why don’t you start a new thread to hit the point home more ?

I suspect there are many many more that are waiting for C1 to follow suit eagerly.
Lightroom CC, seems to have it well worked out.
I love the interface , and the touch screen on my iPad Pro, so quick and intuitive compared to C1 (full screen size curves are amazing to edit with you’re finger compared to C1’s skittery wee box)
But like yourself I much prefer c`1’s rendering look , there’s less noise and a different type of grain.
However the syncability and ease of use is beggining to outway C1 and a laptop, and copying sessions to HDs to work between laptop and studio computer.

One thing I don’t think you can tether from it .. or not that I’ve seen so far - love to find out if you can...
