Cropping 604X345
I am having problems trying to crop and image to 604X345. This is the size the magazine I shoot for needs for the main shot.
Every time I try to adjust it I get 517X345 or 604X403./ I know its something that I am doing wrong so any help with the would be appreciated. I thinking of coming over to C1 from another software. I am using a mac.
Cheers,
Gary

You need to set the crop aspect ratio to the values you need. This should help:

Ok, will try that. The problem Im having is every time I try to crop those dimensions 604X345 its crops an area that size like the face bit doesnt crop the whole image 0 -

^^^ I have no idea what that means. Not trying to be mean I just literally do not understand that English clause.Thedoctor wrote:

This part sounds like you have the crop tool set to 3:2 or original (most DSLRs have a 3:2 aspect ratio) and are then trying to crop to the size you want. The trouble is since the crop tool will always maintain a 3:2 ratio you cannot get the size you want in both dimensions. When you pick the long side at 604 you get the wrong short side and when you pick a short side of 345 you get the wrong long side. If you set the aspect ratio to the dimensions you want it should work.0 -
Sorry about t hat had spell check on.
What Im trying to say is it crops 604X345 to an unusable size with other software it crops the whole photo to 604X3450 -
If you want the whole photo to be reduced to 604x345, create an output recipe set to those dimensions.

Ah, got it. So...
First crop with the right aspect ratio and then...Ian3 wrote:

Second to get the output image sized to be exactly the dimensions you want.
But don't skip step one or you will get the wrong sizes you were quoting in your initial post.0 -
Thanks I think this will do it 0
