How to retain file names from the camera?
I have a situation in which I should like to shoot a tethered Canon camera and retain the original file name and numbers.
It seems that I have to change them. This is normally a good idea but this time I can't allow it to happen. Any advice?

Many thanks in advance,

When you tether to Capture One, the camera does not provide a file name. This task is handed over to the software. 0 -

Paul is correct, however you could possibly approximate the original file name by setting your "next capture rename" settings to match IMG_[Camera Counter]. That assumes of course that your camera is set to the default file name prefix of IMG_.
It's not a perfect solution due to the nature of the Canon SDK that the PhaseOne dev team has to work with but I bet something along these lines would get you most of the way where you want to be.0 -
Do you need to shoot with tethered functionality?
Could you just shoot to a hot folder and so retain the camera file name?
