Synchronization and Importing

I am starting to use Catalogs in Capture One 7 instead of sessions. I have successfully imported my Fuji X camera files with the option to let them live in their current location.

Question is I use a different third party software package to take pictures from my flash cards and store them in a location based on their EXIF data. I've been doing it this way for about 10 years and have no plans to change my computer file structure and asset management outside of Capture One.

Lightroom has a synchronize folder command that has served this approach well. So if new files get loaded into the current month for example I simply synchronize that month and see all the photos I've taken.

How do I do the same with Capture One catalogs. How do I import new files that are in the same directory as existing files already visible in the catalog. Can it be done?

  Short answer: no.

  You can right click on the folder and select import... and it will bring up the import dialog. The import will skip those images already imported to the catalog and only add the new ones.

  No. Ehh yes. I mean it is already here. It is called Capture One Pro 8. Synchronize folders is a new feature of CO8.
