Problem with 20.03
I downloaded the new version, and every time I start it starts generating previews and will not stop. I let it go over night and it reached over 50,000 previews generated. Sadly, my catalog only has 10,000 images!
Is anyine else seeing this?
Thanks

This happened to me too. With just 10 photos on my external hard drive, after installing 20.0.3 it started to build over 240 previews.

Create a Support Request.
Is it actually recreating previews or looping around filling memory preparing for starting work?

So now I had the exact same problem on my other Mac which is running macOS 10.14.6. It is generating previews and it doesn't stop. It has generated over 1800 previews and since an hour it still says "about 1 minute left". I will create a support request.

C1 support sent me an email today with these steps to follow:
I have followed and complied with all the steps. I have have never had this issue before and all my upgrades have been working flawlessly until now. Unfortunately this didn't help me for now, but it could well help you.

That email from them is a cop out. If more than one person downloads an upgrade and gets this result, it would not be a setting issue, but a bug in the software update, surely!

Digger1914, do you also get the message "cannot render the image because it is offline" when it is generating the previews?

Yes, that message flashes up, then goes away

That means that we have the exact same problem / bug. I had to go back to version 20.0.2.
At the moment, I do certainly NOT want to do a complete clean install of version 20.0.3 and try if that might work. I have sent another ticket to support and I am waiting for a reply.
I will keep you up to date as soon as something comes up.

Hello digger1914, hello all,
There was no way around it and I did a clean install. Fortunately it worked well. It is just very important to follow the steps. You will be asked to throw away your catalog. Just DON'T DELETE it! You need it to get your images back. Also make a back-up.
I followed these steps https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002402377-How-to-uninstall-Capture-One-
When you have a Mac, step 8 is located in another place.

Sadly, the latest release did not fix this problem. C1 is unusable at the moment. I will have to uninstall it and try the older version I guess. This is not good enough.
