LUTS! How is it that C1 can't use LUTs?
LoggedI am not going to pay $199 for 3Dlut to convert LUTs to a system C1 can use. I am also not going to pay monthly to use lutify.me because it can also create the system C1 uses. Can we just update C1 into the modern era so it can also use LUTs like literally everyone else (the kind created in Photoshop)? C1 is literally the only DAM out there that can't use a LUT. It's so frustrating as I have a client that gave me a LUT as their corporate "look" and I have to use any other tool. BTW, DXO has a pretty nice piece of software.

I would like to see a LUT feature to i like how ACDSee dose it you can control the amount and pick filters for it as well. I am doing the trial right now and that is one feature I am looking for I was surprised to see this does not have that.

Would be great to have modern LUT support and features. The ability to have the LUT embedded into a Session or Catalog if applied to images therein would also be extremely helpful. This would ensure that the LUTs travel with the Session/Catalog if moved or shared. Lightroom CC synchronizes the LUT catalog and your favorites via Creative Cloud so the LUTs are available on other computers and even Lightroom Mobile. It's very slick and clean.

I would love to see C1 add it in like this. This is ACDSee I also have they added a lut feature into the raw area on the last version.
It has the blend tool and they added a drop-down list of settings for different ways to apply them Soft light works very good for a lot of them. But this opens up a lot of different looks for each lut you use.

Capture pro please add LUTS AVAILABILITY. We as a community should be allowed to import & create our own luts in C1.

Hi there,
Thank you for feedback on Capture One - this is always welcomed and encouraged among our users and we appreciate the time you've taken to contribute towards the development of the software.
I have forwarded your comments and suggestions to our Product Management team as something to consider in a future release.
Whilst we cannot comment on future releases, we take all suggestions on board and hopefully your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.

Any news on this?
Are there any workarounds to use LUTS?

Nothing yet?

Have been experimenting with importing LUT files as Color>Base Characteristics>ICC profiles. Worked on some of my .RAFs, but nothing on others, until I set the Curve to Film Standard. Hey presto, seems to be consistently working.
Not sure if this is Capture One's way forward with LUT's , but if so would be great if imported files could be organized similar to the various brand names already included.0 -
please take alook at Affinity does work with LUTs:

I am waiting for this now a long time. Want to work with LUTs in layers and save LUTs and crate my own LUTs and use all my LUTs which are waiting to be used in layers0 -
LUTs can be very useful as they allow corrections which go beyond what is possible with a presets but doubt this is high on their priority list.

Would like to see LUTs in Capture One. I do not join subscription based services and expensive third party packages like 3DLut or Lutify and hate jumping to other SW packages to utilize LUTs.

LUT in C1 V22 ... it is time after two years this threadwas started. Is it so hard to do this? It is not much more than just a colortable ... come on, finally do it!

...sure but adding LUT support would harm their business with totally overpriced and primitive presets.

I find this video on AlexonRaw hope it helps

The Alex on Raw video is about 3D LUT, which the OP began his first post by saying he didn't want to pay for.

Why was this FR marked as completed? There is still no LUT support.

Why was this FR marked as completed? There is still no LUT support.
"Completed" just means that it's registered by Capture One as a user request.

I don't think that's what it means. I just saw another post about FR statuses and apparently, it's a total mess as no one actually manages this (anymore).
Aside from that, I don't understand why this feature still does not exist yet. It's the one feature that would literally pay for itself as CaptureOne could start selling their own LUTs, just like they do with the styles.

As far as I know, Capture One keeps a list/database of user requests; once a request has been added to this list, it's marked as "completed".

That's exactly what it means.
Aside from that, I don't understand why this feature still does not exist yet.
Because its importance to you does not equate to importance to the wider community: Capture One takes a "popularity" based approach to feature requests, and if a given feature doesn't appear, it's because there isn't sufficient demand for it.

I see. Keith, are you getting a lot out of the new subscription based culling system?

Please include it as a layer, with all the opacity / masking options that offers.

btw, I like the easy to grasp cost model of 3D LUT Creator:
Updates are free up to version 1.xx. Paid upgrades are 2.0, 3.0, etc.
The cost of the update is 50% of the current version cost at the time of the update.2 -
As someone who partly makes a living from selling C1 film styles, I live in fear of the day C1 adds support for them...! :D
Seriously though, it seems like such a small simple feature which would be a big improvement for a lot of people, I'm amazed it's not been done yet. The current workaround to use LUTs in C1 (embedding via the base characteristics) is complex, fiddly and inflexible, and compromises colour accuracy unless targeting a specific camera model only. Surely a LUT tool couldn't be that hard?2 -
DXO Photolab added LUT support on its v7 that has come out a few months back.
I have now moved to using it over C1. The LUT support is basic but it works and I can use all my custom LUTs now.
Its a different work flow in Photolab but once you learn it it works great, Also has many features C1 dose not have like auto horizon that saves a lot of time and auto sharpening based on the camera and lens used also saving a lot of time and the auto distortion that fixes the image making it look better and the fantastic noise reduction. And a lot more.
I am using a custom LUT now for my outdoor portraits I made and can blend it in as strong or as little as I want now. Then have other ones for other things plus a lot of film LUTs.
Also great for when outdoor shots of people are sunburned. A LUT can change the red sunburn into a more suntan look for portraits.0 -
I wish for LUTs in layers so that I can use masks and opacity slider.

Just in case you don't know, this is really easy in C1 without a LUT, in my opinion. Note the dot is the target color for the uniformity sliders in the Skin Tone Editor, so set it as then desired suntan color and the uniformity sliders will push the colors in the pie segment towards this color:

I do however fully support the request for LUT layers in C1.
2 -
I also don't want to look for expensive ways to convert LUT to C1, but I reely need this funcion.
