As someone who does a lot of B&W, I agree.

I see why this might be attractive, but exactly how to implement it is an issue. Would it include every variant where the black and white tool had been involved? What about slightly tinted monochromes (such as sepia) rather than "pure" B&W, or those with split toning.  I'm not saying it might not be a good idea, but it needs fleshing out with some details.

Ok, I see it's not straightforward to define what to put within the BnW category. In my opinion, having a filter for selecting pure BnW photos would be already great and this is what is done in Lightroom as well. Then adding other possibilities for selecting tinted monochromes and so on would be even better for sure.

So far I've been tagging and filtering my B&W variants with keywords or using some IPTC fields (category /supp. category)

    Hope this helps

Giovanni Armaroli asked for a simple filter for images with the „Turn to BnW“ button activated. Images with split-tones would then be selected as well, but no images with only the saturation-slider turned to -100 or layers which apply some kind of monochromatic transformation.

I asked for this feature several times before by opening support cases. Every time I got the same answer that my request was forwarded to the software development team. Until now this feature is still missing so either it is too complicated to implement or there are not enough user requests.

    Hi Giovanni,

Thank you for the suggestion provided.

There was a couple of similar requests before.

I will also add your request and forward it to the Product Management team.

Hopefully your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.
