Capture 1 for Nikon Crashing/looping when selecting more then 10 images
Just bought and installed it. I've used C1 before so I am familiar with the interface and workflow.
Starting up C1, made a new session, poited to the directory with todays work. 150 NEF's. Selecting more then 10 photos makes the program loop and doesn't answer. Have to kill the process tree manually.

Richard,
Not idea - not something I have seen before either personally or reported in the forums.
What happens of you change the viewer display to single image.
It seems unlikely but have you checked for keys sticking down on the keyboard? What happens of you disconnect it?
Have you already tried closing and restarting the application?
If that does not work - rebooting the system?
If absolutely nothing works I would suggest that you use the "Submit Request" option and create a Support Case so that the Capture One support team can provide dedicated personalised support.
There are no differences (other than Camera type restrictions) between the Nikon and other versions (other than the Express versions)
You have a "Set" selected for the ten images in the browser. And the "Hand" tool.
When you display a Set in the viewer they are treated as a group of images and therefore if you use the cursor control keys to move through the images the slected image will loop around in the "Set". That is what makes me wonder if somehow a "key" is signalling that is has been pressed and you are simply looping through the selected "Set".
HTH.

Thanks for your effort Grant!
The problem seems to be gone without any system wide changes or reboot. I ignored it and developed some photos - fantastic software! - and closed the program just to restart it. I did change view mode from grid to list, selected +10, no problems. Changed back to grid and again, selected +10 with no spooky behaviour. Tried a bigger set of 300 without causing the loop.
Performance of the software in editing as well as exporting is mighty impressive. The output quality very good. I have owned the software for 24 hours and already in love, knowing today I wont regret the purchase. The bundle with smugmug a hit, wasn't aware of that former 500px had evolved that much. Building up a new home for my portfolio, again: thank you (you + capture one team) for the the fast resonse.
My first Capture One 20 for Nikon exports can be seen here https://richardekman.smugmug.com/People/n-LLbrJ4/ (text made in third party, old macros)
