Color editor issue
Hi, I just downloaded the latest version of Capture One with the neat new features, however I am finding issues with the Color Editor.
After I create a mask with the Color Editor (Advanced), if I create a second layer, move to another image and return, there is nothing on the settings in the layer I created with the Color Editor, its all blank as if I would not have used this feature.
I had no issues with the previous version available until Monday.
Has anybody had this issue? I am running on Macbook pro with the latest OS Catalina, quite a lot of memory available to work.
Regards,

I have exactly this problem too. I've reported it to support. Perhaps you might report it too so they realise it's a widespread issue.
As a workaround I've found that switching the Colour Editor tool to the Basic tab before leaving the image doesn't result in the edits made previously in the Advanced tab being deleted.
Hope this works for you until the problem gets fixed.

Thank you John,
I will report it to support, but I have search the entire new webpage, but I cannot find where they have the support link, it only gives you forum of FAQ.
Or it is just an email address?

Gonzalo,
it is quite difficult to find on the website. If you are signed into the site you should see "Submit a Request" next to your username at the top of the page. If you click on that you'll see a form which you can fill in with the details of the error. I selected "I have a question about a product I already purchased (Technical)" from the dropdown list.

John,
I'm having the exact same problem with the Color Editor in v20 and it's is very frustrating. I used your workaround of copy/paste in the Basic mode and it works. Like Gonzalo–I can not find the "Submit a Request" so I can report it.
Regards,
Luis

Hi Everyone,
I received this reply from Capture One support:
Victor (Capture One)
May 25, 2020, 8:13:23 PM GMT+2Hello,
Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention, we appreciate the time you’ve taken to contribute towards the development and maintenance of Capture One.
I would consider this a bug and have already filed a report with all the details for the R&D team.
I will place your ticket on-hold and will get back to you should we need any more information on this bug report.
Unfortunately, we cannot comment when this bug will be fixed, but rest assured that it has been reported and will be looked into.
We also cannot guarantee that this will be in the next service release, but we will do our best to roll out a fix as soon as possible.

Hi Luis,
Thank you so much for the post
This reply sounds very disturbing and disappointing. Without Color Editor this software is pretty much useless.

I've had pretty much an identical response to my bug report on the same issue.
I think their answer is positive and reasonable -
1. They acknowledge it's a bug
2. All the details are with their R&D team
3. They'll fix it as soon as possible
In the meantime don't forget there's a workaround as per my first post above.

Hi John,
I wish I could be as optimistic as you :)
Knowing how rare Capture One releases software updates their response "We also cannot guarantee that this will be in the next service release, but we will do our best to roll out a fix as soon as possible" sounds for me like "never" (((

Crazy still not fixed ???

Hi Joe,
I received a message that with the last update (2 days ago) they fixed the Color Editor, I tried 1-2 images and it worked, I haven't got back to them to see if the changes are still there.
Your question is because you found an error with the new version?
There is an error with the pointer, that if your computer receives a mail or message, and your point is now a paint brush, the paint brush disappears and you only the the pointer arrow, you need to move the pointer out of the image and return to it to see the paint brush, the same happens with other pointers.

you need to move the pointer out of the image and return to it to see the paint brush,
Or you can hit the space bar which temporarily transitions to the hand tool. Letting go of the space bar brings you back to the appropriate brush.

Fantastic thanks I was unaware of the update. Just downloaded and all working fine now after a month of frustration. I will keep a eye out for the pointer fault.

Thanks for posting your results. The latest update seems to have fixed the Advanced Color Editor issue. Unfortunately, each time I go to the Color Editor I have to change it to Advanced. Should be "sticky".
I've had that problem with the pointer also but I think it's a Mac problem. Does anyone have that issue in Photoshop?

PS is working fine (no problems with the mouse pointer).
Just tested the latest Camera RAW version, which looks to have a few similarities to the latest C1 enhancements.
Still like the HDR from C1, but this last version of PS Camera RAW, this bridge was reduced.
Regarding C1, until now I did not have any issues with it, but lately the number of problems has increased. Still there is no answer or fix the the EXIF Metadata, that is lost or not taken into account when it comes on TIFF file.

The latest update seems to have fixed the Advanced Color Editor issue for me as well.

Let’s see how long it takes to support 10.16 that was just announced and what issues it creates.
