Hi Mark,
Thank you for your post.
Your request for the lens profiles for Samyang/Rokinon was forwarded to the Product Management team.

I have couple of Samyang lenses and didn't find the profiles. Can this be included in the request please?
Samyang AF 85 mm F1.4 Sony FE
Samyang AF 35 mm f2.8 Sony FE

I note that there as still no lens profiles for Samyang/Rokinon lenses, nor for Laowa for that matter. Lightroom supports the Samyang/Rokinon Lenses, and there are profiles for using the Laowa lens, so Capture 1 is behind. My move to replace Lightroom with Capture 1 is on hold, in large part because of this and other feature gaps that honestly make no sense.

I understand Capture One is primarily focussed on professionals and focussing their efforts on the more popular and expensive lenses. An ability for community to create and share lens profiles will be very helpful. Currently I own 3 Samyang lenses with no lens profile support.

Hi, Liliy,
the request was already forwarded to the Product Management team 3 years ago. Nothing happened though. Quite disappointing as Samyang 12mm is a very popular lens.

That's right, the 12mm is really popular and I was surprised when I saw it wasn't in the lens database.

Miss them too and I agree with Reinhard John. the request was forwarded many times. It is disappointing. Laowa is needed as well.

+1 for the Samyang MF 14mm F2.8 MK2 please !
Thank you2 -
Would love to see support for this lens...or some way to utilize profiles from the Lensfun project

Yes i've the Samyang 12mm 2.8 Too, it's incredible that not include in Capture One.

It does not make any sense to post here. Capture One is not interested in supporting APS-C lenses. Not even the famous SIGMA Trio ist supported. I won't buy any upgrade of C1 unless the most important lens profiles are delivered. I do encourage everyone to do the same.

I also request samyang lens profiles. some of there lenses are very good optically. At least please profile the full frame tiny series.
samyang lenses I own include
45mm f1.8 for emount
75mm f1.8 for emount
24mm f1.8 for emount (new)
12mm f2 for emount (apsc)

Are these lenses now consistent for each example?
I have a fully manual 14mm from about 10 years ago. Maybe older.
It's quite sharp in the right situation and balanced across the image plane but I seem to recall that there were significant variations reported back then from one sample of the lens to another. That would make the development of a profile for widespread use rather difficult if consistency is considered.
On my lens automatic identification would be difficult or impossible as there is no communication between lens and camera body.

samyang lens profiles please! their AF lenses are really good especially the tiny range. Many street photographers use them.

It is widely used for Astro photography1 -
I was really hoping Capture One could replace Lightroom for me, but without Samyang Lens Profiles I will definitely not buy it.
@Lily: In two Posts here you reply that the request has been sent to Product Management, but then no further information is provided for a year.

Would like to have samyang lens profile too. They are releasing good af lenses and deserve a profile.

Johnny,
Out of interest, do the latest lenses all come with electronic communication with the camera body? If so do Samyang and their brand-named derivatives all provide some level of built-in lens correction adjustments that the cameras understand?
(I assume it is likely they will because otherwise any in-camera processed jpgs would likely look rather poor. However, it seems worthwhile to ask someone who is using them.)

Hi SFA, the newer lens are starting to get electronic contacts and thus offering AF capabilities and exif. Samyang past lenses are manual ones. But still if there are profiles, then we can choose on Capture One manually if manual lens, auto if AF lens.
Talking about whether the camera understand the lens, I guess it depends on brand.

There's also other popular lenses, some not so cheap 1.4 aperture.

Samyang/Rokinon, Laowa, Viltrox should be added on lens profile.
Maybe should change the way that profiles work, be able to load your own profile ( some brands gives you their LP ) and load it on the software, or a updated Capture One complete list to download what you need.
Lightroom is years ahead on this topic, and in remove cromatic aberrations too, but Capture One is the best on everything else :)

C1 can read the integrated lens profile. Maybe too sharpening, I lovered it under 90, in some case to 0.
And yes the cromatic aberrations removal is better in Lightroom, it can remove the blue and the green and also select the aberration color with an eyedropper.
