Maybe you could explain what your problem is first?

I’m trying to get the prints to match the monitor.

    More info will help.

Which Dell monitor model are you using, is it wide gamut etc? The Spyder 3 is an old device and may not work well with modern monitors.

Are you able to set the level of the monitor light output to around 80-100 cd/m2?

In what way are the prints not matching the monitor?

Are you using the requisite printer profile when printing and what application are you using to print?

Another thought. You need to turn off colour management in the Canon printer driver when an application is used to control colours via a ICC profile. Failure to turn off the printers colour management will result in double profiling which really screws up the colours.
