Since doing the 10.7.4 update on my MBP at work today Apple seem to have taken it down.

C1 6.4 did crash at start after updating to 10.7.4 today.
Using the little toggle OpenCL app did resolve the issue immediately (Mac pro 2006 with ATI Radeon HD5570).
Many thanks for your reactivity 😄

Same for me C1 work fine after OpenCl has been desactivated
( iMac 2,93 GHz Intel Core i7, ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB)
I was expecting C1 to be slower without OpenCL but so far I didn't notice any difference.
    Thank for your help 😄

How will we know when the updated version is ready? Do you have an estimate when that could be?

Usually professional software companies are given the opportunity to test future mac osx updates with their own softwares to assure compatibility. Apple seeded First Developer Beta of OS X 10.7.4 back in March, so I really don't understand why Phase One hasn't had the time to test it.

To me this is very unprofessional, the least Phase One could have done is let its customers know that there is an issue and that the new update should not be installed if Capture One is an important part of their workflow.

I can not even get C1 to open since updating to 10.7.4 so I can't even try turning off the open CL again (which was working fine under 10.7.3). C1 has been the only software for pro studio's since version 3.0.
but since version 4 to 5 to 6 I have had a continuos stream of issues with the software. Here I am stuck in the middle of a job with no time to revert to 10.7.3...lost work,time...and HAVE to decide if I want to use Aperture or Lightroom 4...both which are working fine but god darn it...I want my C1 Pro to WORK ☹️

Nicolas, the issue re. CO6.x with OS X 10.7.4 applies to Macs with AMD video chips. nVidia graphics operate normal.

Here is help to make your CaptureOnePro work under 10.7.4 after it crashes and never start again.

I have the settings file where opencl is turned of. with this it works fine.

    http://wtrns.fr/915bRBw02E5XNh8

unzip and take this file to: "user/libary/preferences" and overwrite your preferences.

capture one pro will now start and work fine. if you go to the preferences and turn open cl on, all crashes again.

so don't do that and wait for next update.

i hope you people out there are now happy again. 😄

This is similar to the solution provided in the first post of this thread. A script to disable OpenCL in the preference file is available from Phase One. Follow up the link the first post.

    Stefan,
Please reread the original post and follow the link, the small script you need to run in order to Turn Off OpenCL does not require you to launch Capture One at all. 😊

Getting a solution to this is great, thank you - worked like a charm. I'm not really very knowledgeable about these things but (1) will disabling OpenCL like that adversely affect anything else on the Mac, and (2) will it be advisable to toggle it on again after a fix is provided?
