How extensive is psd support, i.e., can layers be edited individually?

N/M I see PSDs are supported about like tiffs. My first tests are not encouraging. A preview of a 1.4 gig PSD file was not generated, a resave of the file failed. No time to look deeper tonight. Hope this is just user error.

I just installed & it's quite unstable on my system. I'll restart & see it that helps. Others - have you had this experience - it hangs, I get a bright flash sometimes?

I'm using Win7 64bit. After updating 10.1, closing the program, and opening Chrome browser, Chrome browser would go into a endless loop of "waiting for cache". I've experienced this with an earlier build of C1, and updating Chrome was the cure.

I updated the Chrome browser and everything seems to be good.

Assuming you don't have a Chrome/C1 incompatibility, make sure your video drivers are up to date. Next (if new drivers don't help), turn off video acceleration (edit>preferences>general>hardware acceleration).

Thanks Graham...same system as you, I did update chrome, video acceleration is off but the preferences window is stuck on - there's no close button showing & clicking outside the window doesn't work?? Nothing else works until I exit that window. Not sure how/where to update drivers?

Right click on the desktop, select screen resolution, choose advanced settings. The dialog box that appears will let you know what display adapter you're running.

After you identify the display adapter, you can either go onto the manufacturer site, e.g., Nvidia, and download the appropriate driver, or choose "driver" from the dialog box, and select driver>update driver.

You probably should read the release notes for the information they contain re PSD files.

    Hi,
found a little "Bug" in my 10.1 ..

When i open the Import-Box, the settings where the raw's will be stored and how the will be named is" presetted" as usual.

But when the Import-Box opens automatically by adding a SD-Card, these Settings are every Time on default and i must choose by Hand the Folder for my Raws.

    Has everyone else noticed this?

    regards
    Kurt

All of my legacy PSDs were saved without "maximum compatibility" enabled and it would be extremely tedious to go through and resave all those files so that C1 will display a preview. C1 will, however, display a thumbnail of those images temporarily in the browser until the preview generation fails and then the thumbnail is replaced by the generic white box.

It would be very helpful to allow the thumbnail of ALL psd files to be displayed in the browser with the message "No preview available" shown in the viewer for those saved without "max compatibility".

Yeah, I know, it's a USER forum but these posts get read by denizens of the mother ship, especially when there's been a new release. 😊

My version is mostly good but if I open preferences, it won't close & I have to crash C1 in the task manager in order to get out of it. tech support told me to do a clean install but that seems laborious & I don't want to lose my customization. I just live with it.

There's no option for closing Prefs on my install either. Hitting the Esc key works for me.

Hi all, fairly new user so these may not be related to the new version as such, but I have noticed a couple of things after upgrading (using Pro 10 for Sony).
1 - the Color Editor tool gets 'stuck' in the left hand menu window, even when navigating away from the colour tab. This seems to happen intermittently, but sometimes enought that I have to remove the tool to allow access to other tools.
2 - when working with a Heal mask, prior to updating when I moved the source anchor point, I could see a live view of Capture One's application of the mask - it would show the repaired area as it would look based on the source area selected. if I moved the anchor point, the fill in the masked area would change pretty much in real time. Now, the mask does not disappear at all - I can only see the effect of the Heal action by selecting out of the heal layer (e.g. by clicking out of the tool or by clicking on the background layer text label). This is very frustrating as I could previously continuously fine-tune the adjustment whereas now I must select source and click away to see the result, and then repeat to amend it. Is this a bug, by design (very regressive if so) or a configuration setting that I cam amend to restore the earlier function - any advice much appreciated.

For me Capture One 10.1 crashes when I try to open one of my old sessions. The photos in the viewer change size every second (and are shown in a weird layout) and Capture One hangs completely.

Is anybody else experiencing such problems?

For now I'm going back to 10.0.

I see that 10.1.1 is out.

It is not appearing in C1/Updates yet.

Will wait until it does before installing it.

Hopefully, the missing Chromatic Aberration default checked box bug, for my 5D MkIV/Profiled Lenses, has been addressed.

You can download it from the web site, don't need to wait for it to appear in Updates.

Windows 10 Pro x64; Canon 5D Mk iv

    Just downloaded 10.1.1

Chromatic Aberration in Lens Profile is still not ticked by default for two of my lenses for which it used to be so.

Not a big deal, and easily overcome, but annoying when software goes backwards.

The lenses are Canon 17-40mm and 50mm 2.8 Macro.

    Ps.

The "Analyze Primary Variant", "Analyze All Selected Variants" dialog for selecting multiple variants for CA correction, which had disappeared in 10.1, has returned in 10.1.1

    So, progress of sorts.

It's not necessarily going backwards though.

Is CA a problem with those lenses? At all settings?

The processing overhead for working with active CA analysis and correction has previously been mentioned as being quite significant. Now for a single image on a powerful machine that may not be obvious but in a batch it might be quite a hit - potentially an unnecessary hit that does nothing for the images.

Whether CA correction should be run by default or not may be a tricky question to answer.

Assuming you have not set up and saved a preset of some sort and made that the default for the lens/camera/whatever, it may be wise to create a Support Case and ask Phase About the matter (perhaps you have already?) .
