New session, import JPEG shows empty folder

I made a new folder on the iMac, with 4 jpeg photo's, which are displayed in Finder, ..
Next a created a new session. Now I want to import these 4 jpegs, but CaptureOne9 gives a warning: no photo's in this folder... If I choose another folder, the photo's there can be viewed...
The folder can be viewed by FINDER, so I do not understand why C1 does not accept these files !
Why are these JEG's ignored by C1 ?

    In Preferences, on the Image tab, there is a check box for Enable JPEG editing. Is it checked?
