It usually just stays how you left it last time you used it, as far as I know. At least it does for me.

Hi Ian, thanks for your reply,
Yes, it worked that way untill version 11 (at least for me) but now it'll turn on at each new start .. even if I left it off.
I've even tried to save my workspace with it turned off - but no changes, that stuborn thing is always on.

Odd. I just tried it before I responded (I'm on Version 12, latest updates) and it still worked as described.

I don't think its a workspace thing. More a preferences attribute. Not sure if it should be session/catalogue related as well - i.e start where you last left it.

Now if on start up you were always picking up an old preferences from a previous shutdown that might suggest a "stuck" preferences file for some reason.

What happens if you open a new session or catalog?

I'm not using Mac but on windows the initial settings for many things seems to be set according to some general preferences as at last full exit from C1 and/or for some settings, the specific settings for the session/catalog - which is most noticeable if one has more than one session/catalogue open at the same time.

I've never been enough distracted by any possible differences to dig deeply into a full analysis.

    Thanks Grant
well, I tried with a new catalogue on two Mac's - all the same. Did a new install, like a update - so all is new but my preference files. I'm almost shure this bevavior started with version 12.

As I am on Windows this may not be very helpful to you but I have played around a bit including setting up Workspaces saved with "Edit All" actively on when saved and nothing seems to override the "open as last set during close" state.

That's not to say that I might not experience a similar problem at some point but it would not be down to any obvious user changeable setting that I can discover.

I would suggest asking the C1 Support Team via a Support Case to see what they can suggest.

    HTH.

FWIW I just started up Capture One 12.1.3 9 and edit all variants is on, which is the way it was when I last shut Capture One down.

The workspace is not the default workspace; it is a modified default works space I saved quite a few weeks ago.
