Colour Questions -ICC Profile when editing - how to choose?
I use a Canon 1Ds Mark III for some work.
When I load files from this camera, in the Colour tab, under Base Characteristics, the default ICC Profile that is selected is "Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III Generic" - i.e. my camera. Fine.
Two questions:
I edit a lot using captured images of a Gretag Colour Checker. I want to be able to view this colour checker on my screen in both Adobe RGB 1998 and ProPhoto RGB, so that I can apply the RGB values for both of these colour spaces to the image.
1. If I select Adobe RGB (1998) from Colour/Base Characteristics/ICC Profile/Other/Adobe RGB, are those the RGB values I'm seeing?
2. I don't see ProPhoto RGB anywhere in the ICC Profile list, or am I missing something? If it isn't there, can I download and install it?
Thanks.

My opinion, although I have to confess that I sometimes feel color profiles are more sorcery than science.
1. Do not use the wrong input profile. If you do, the meaning (in terms of what the real color looks like) of the RGB values will be distorted and that will throw your calibration out. Instead you should change the output profile in the View menu.
2. You can find it online: http://www.color.org/chardata/rgb/rommrgb.xalter0 -
As per Colors in Capture One: http://help.phaseone.com/en/CO7/Output/ ... e-One.aspx
1- Select View>Proof Profile.
2- Select the desired profile or output recipe for permanent usage in the Viewer.
The default setting displays the image in the viewer in the color space that is selected in the highlighted Process Recipe.
The active ICC profile information is not available in the viewer area and nowhere.
You just have to remenber...source of errors ☹️
