It is a setting in Image Capture program that launches Capture One:

Next, when Capture One is running and you connect a card or camera you can prevent it from starting the Import dialog from CO6's preferences, General tab, Importing.

Thanks, Paul. I checked the Knowledge Base but wasn't specific enough to trigger that solution.

Maybe if you can be more specific regarding actions taken, your system etc., and where the KB article lost you, we can help you out.

I was lead here to solve a particular problem. Capture one will open whenever anything that has photos associated with it is connect to my Mac. My phone, a camera, my iPad, a disk drive with images; anything will cause Capture one to open. I'd like for capture one to only open when I tell it to.

The article you've pointed to seems to be invalid In Lion, as there are no preferences available for the Image Capture system application like you suggest here. Not even grayed out. Just not there. Any other ideas?

    Andy,
To see the preferences, they're not labeled "preferences" btw, you need to connect something, anything, that activates Capture One to open. So first, plug something into the USB port that the Image Capture app can see. You'll then see the actions described in the article.
