Great. Thanks to Phase One for bringing out support for Capture One 11 much quicker than for Capture One 10. Really appreciated! And now I can upgrade to High Sierra too.

Wow, - great news!
Glad to see MPSE is further supported - it IS a great and unique DAM worth keeping in one's 'toolbox'...
Thank you Phase One Team.0 -
Oh that is awesome ❗️
And I just settled on a new work flow combining C1 sessions and a catalogue. Now I think I have to revisit that plan and consider Media Pro again. I think that counts as a first world problem 😎
Thanks.0 -

Since you can only laugh. In the Windows version, one BUG chasers the next. Just flop.
Create ticket -no is not worth it just does not happen0 -

What is the problem you are experiencing?

1. Under Windows it is not possible to set MP to not start with any catalog. Under OSX is this possible
2. Trying import new images - about 3000 Canon 5DMKIII/ 7D MKII fails - MP importer creates a lot of Appcore7x64.exe processes and they all fails with memory dumps.
Same machine - same import source and same import destination but OSX - no problem. Have tested it on 2 different machines.
3. Some Help points comes with "script fails", because property is unknown
Sorry for me it was the last time I wasted my time on this software.0 -

How do you use Windows and MacOS on the same machine? Do you have a hackintosh, or do you use a virtual machine? And if so, is that "supported" by Phase One?

This is unimportant, because Phase One has already confirmed last year the issues at point 1 and 2.
Only the answer was "we do not know if we will fix it"
General Windows support of the company is more than bad and that for all products0 -
I only discovered this news by accident. Using the "Check for updates" menu option in 2.2 fails to discovered it. Not surprising really, because of PhaseOne's software is iffy - including their website which for me always comes up in Chinese on the first page. So, I tried to download it using the link mentioned above. That stalled at about 90%. Oh dear, I'll have another go later. 0 -
nice, some compatibility updates and bug fixes. but are there any new features? 0 -

Not really but the big thing is that it works with High Sierra and correctly displays adjustments made in Capture One 11. It’s a free upgrade for existing users, so no reason not to go for it.
Ian0 -
sure i’ll update. just wish there was something new. still waiting for smart folders like in Lightroom or Aperture 0 -
Thanks for the update!
It is really appreciated as this was holding back my High Sierra update.
Can you clarify if this version of Media Pro works with Capture One 10.2.1 or does it ONLY work with Capture One 11 +?
thanks

Yes it works with older versions of Capture One as well. I have a number of sessions from older versions of Capture One and not all of them have been upgraded to version 11. Of those that have, many of the images are still on older processing engines, and they are fine.

Why it seems like I still can't get the Import File/folder Command and the Reset Folder Path Command to work?
Always get a blank/black window...
Running MP 2.3.0.215 and OS X 10.13.3 High Sierra
thanks

Good morning!
Does anyone know the answer:
Is Media Pro a 64 bit application[color=#999999:3mc7tzwt], so that it will survive on MacOS beyond September 2018[/color:3mc7tzwt]?0 -
System report on my iMac says that the current version of Media Pro 2.3.0.215 is NOT 64 bit.
I have no inside knowledge as to when/whether Phase One will bring out a 64-bit update.
Ian0 -
Ok, thank you Ian.
So I need to wait with my purchase until a 64 bit version is available (or at least announced).0 -

Or wait to update to the next version of MacOS!

I never go to the next OS immediately when released, too risky.
However, another risk is that Media Pro won't go to 64 bit and will be merged into CO instead.0 -
Well, after upgrading to version 10.13.4, when I started MediaPro, it showed a warning that this program is NOT 'optimized' to run under OS and developers have to update the program!
It does still run though...
Guess it is Apples way of saying - time is running out...0 -
Any idea when you will start supporting Retina Displays on Macs?
I love Media Pro but this omission renders the software borderline useless... ☹️0 -
Nobody told me that 2.2 didn't work with High Sierra. Just as well, or I wouldn't have been using it with no issue over the past few months 😂 0 -
Same here : Media Pro v. 2.2 worked fine with High Sierra and C1 v. 10. 0 -
Media Pro SE 2.3 is crashing on launch on me now, every time. I've trashed the prefs that I can find and still no go. I'm running Mac Pro desktop, plenty of Ram, plenty of HD space, latest High Sierra update. I've re-downloaded the latest version, still no go.
I'm at a loss. This is critical workflow for me.
Any advice on how to solve would be MOST appreciated. I have started a support ticket too, but thought I'd try here as well.
Thank you!

Phase One has discontinued Media Pro. Given that it is not a 64-bit app, that means it won't run on Mac OS 10.14, which means our app is dead. Any thoughts on how it might be given a new lease on life? 0 -

32-bit apps will still run on macOS 10.14.0 -
I can't say how frustrating the discontinuation of this app is. I've been a user for over a decade, first as iView Media Pro (or some earlier version), then it was bought by Microsoft and changed brands but continued, then spun off to Phase One. Each time I about had a coronary. Our workflow is so tied to this app. for what it does so well, not just cataloging images, but renaming files, scripting lines into meta data (like captions), generating PDF catalogs, and so much more. I would very much like to know if there are other apps out there working on MacOS which do the same things without a lot of bloating. Or, is there any hope that Media Pro will be once again absorbed or spun off and kept alive?

There are a few topics on the forum about options to replace Media Pro. See viewforum.php?f=430
