Logic Keyboard
I thought I would share with everyone that the Logickeyboard dedicated to Capture 1 is now available. I managed to purchase one from The Flash Centre, London. 020 7837 5649/6163. The order was placed at 11:00 Tuesday and arrived (extremely well packaged) at 11:00 the following day.
Although expensive at £130 + carriage it is a high quality keyboard befitting its use with an iMac and other Mac products.
Setting up was a breeze other than you need to go into "edit keyboard shortcuts" and select "Logickeyboard (UK) from the drop down box at the top of the selection page.
As to it's use - well suddenly you find yourself with access to all sorts of things at the press of a button. Well worth the money.

Thanks for the info ! even though i have customized my shortcuts as good as it can get with my normal keyboard, this looks like a nice "take it to the next level" thing 😎 0 -
As has been relayed to me by (in case any posters are worried about compatibility with previous Capture One versions): while it is being marketed as "Capture One Pro 10 Keyboard" it is basically a standard Apple keyboard, which functions as a normal keyboard just with printed keys for Capture One 10 shortcuts, which for the most part are the same as 9 and 8.
...and as J M T mentioned above about his customized shortcuts, custom key commands won't be reflected on the keyboard - which I guess would be same as any keyboard really...they don't magically appear on the keys. eh!0 -
traveller858,
I realize you've only had a week or so with the new keyboard, but I thought I would stop in to see how you are still liking it. Are you finding it to still be useful?
I'm on the fence in regards to getting one. I'm assuming it is set-up with the standard shortcut keys for Capture One Pro, but I am unsure if I will want to edit the existing keyboard shortcuts sometime in the future or if the way it is setup now is good enough. I am a relatively new user to Capture One Pro that tends to adapt fairly well to learning new shortcuts, but I want to see some more positive feedback before spending $140 on a keyboard that locks you into one way of doing things. But if that one way of doing things is really slick, then it makes it worthwhile.
Feedback from any and all users of this keyboard is appreciated!
Cheers,

Hi Bryan,
Wow that's a big ask. I've been using C1 since ver 8. However, I am not a professional user and have always needed to rely upon a printout of the shortcuts to prompt my memory. This keyboard has changed all that and I now find I am using selections that I would have resorted to the menu bar for. As to changing the existing shortcuts - there is nothing stopping you, however, they wouldn't then match the dedicated keyboard. So no advantage. However, there is nothing stopping you creating your own personalised shortcuts, whatever they may be. Remember the dedicated keyboard is actually no different to a normal one other than it has colour coded and text prompts on it to aid you.
In my opinion if you can afford $140 then it's a no brainer. I run two keyboards at the same time - the new dedicated one and a reduced one without number pad. Works fine.
Hope you find a solution that suits you. 😊0 -
I've just received mine from The Flash Centre. My only critiscm is that there is a level of inconsistancy in the way the colour coded keys are labelled. For example, the shortcut label for the letter 'N' shows you need to press the Command and Shift key to create a new catalog, but the Q,E,T and several other keys do not show that the Command key needs pressing as well to action the shortcut. If the assumption by Logickeyboard is that you should know that, then I think that is flawed.
However, it is well made and will save time once you're aware of all the available shortcuts.0 -
Agreed. Silly how that got through the design stage. ❓ 0 -
A big thank you to both of you for your inputs! It really helps hearing from people in the field to see how good it really is. I think I'll order one. They are still on pre-order status here in the United States, but while I'm waiting, I can look for other opinions in this thread that may surface between now and then. Of course, after I've received it and used ti for awhile, I'll report back here too.
Cheers,

Well, we’re still waiting to get the keyboards in the United States. No one seems to have them in stock yet. I’m wondering if some changes had to be made and they halted production? 0 -
Digital Transitions has them. I received mine the other day. Not had time to play with it yet. 0
