Error log for Aperture import?
Hello,
I'm currently test-driving Capture One Pro 8 as a replacement for Aperture, so I attempted to import my Aperture catalog. At the end of the process, I got the following dialog:
15654 files imported
3407 incompatible files
1001 offline files skipped
I repaired my Aperture catalog prior to the import and Aperture does not list any missing images (all of my images are referenced, not managed). I'm guessing the offline files are the images from Photo Stream, but I don't know what the 3407 incompatible files would be; my Aperture library consists of JPGs and DNGs along with a handful of videos shot with my iPhone 4 and 5 — I'm pretty sure these formats are all supported by CO.
Is there a way to list the files that were NOT imported into Capture One from Aperture, like a log file? The Event Log seemed like the logical place but it's empty. I would prefer to not have to guess which files went missing before I transition completely from Aperture.
Thanks!

I too am looking for a log of which files didn't get imported.
Anyone?0 -
Contact support for help. If it is logged, they know it. Would be interesting to know. 0 -
Turns out it's not logged. The support person who responded said he would forward it to "software" for their information. So far all my interactions with tech support have been world class, but this one left a little to be desired. However, he did agree that it should be documented which ones didn't import.
I figured out which ones were the culprits in my case on my own. I suspected it might be a particular file type and sure enough, the number of PSD files in my Lightroom catalog matched the number of non-imported images. I converted them all to TIFF (batch in Photoshop), added them to Lightroom, and removed the PSD's. Then I made a whole new CO8 catalog and reimported my Lightroom catalog. Voila. No longer any errors.
I wish the logs tracked this and even made it completely apparent which ones were not imported. (Like a big screen with a list you could copy immediately after import.)
Now to import my remaining Aperture library (only a few images) and I'm set.0
