Can't see the buttons
Hello,
I'm new user of Capture one Express.
When selecting the "import" command, I can't see the button on bottom of the window.
So I can see the images to import, but can't press the "import" button below.
Even resizing window or changing the monitor resolution.
PC is a HP X2-10, with 1280 x 800 pixel
Any idea ?
Thanks
Mippo

The import dialog box is to some extent resizable so you could try dragging at a corner to make it smaller then moving it up the screen as far as possible. The release notes for v11 for Windows say the minimum monitor specification is 1280x800 at 96 dpi, so you might expect to be OK (just).

Edited to add: the Import button seems to be selected by default, so you could try selecting the images you want, then just pressing Enter.0 -
Hi Ian3, thanks for answering me. 😄
Yes I can resize the window, but there is a limit for that and at the best I can see only a half of the buttons and try to guess the labels inside them.

Here there is an example of the Import window, but the position is different from what I can see,
In my screen there are 5 buttons and the Import one, apperars at second position from right.
Also, the default is not on the import button and if I press Enter nothing happens.
Only taking a good aim to hit the 2nd button, the import works.
Usually the Tab button on the keyboard, cycles between the screen commands, but here it only highlights the leftmost button every 29 press and never the other ones.

Check how your tool bars are arranged.
If you have two or more toolbars, one under another, do what you can to make fewer display.
A couple years ago, I had a lower resolution monitor and had to play with either toolbars or shortcut buttons (copy adjustment / apply adjustments / focus mask / etc) but don't really remember now exactly what I had to change. Anyway, I ended up with a little more vertical display area.0 -
The basic problem is that the UI is not adaptive. Too much parameters are hard-coded (e.g. the font size). Buttons disappearing or being partially hidden in a dialog box are just the sign of a programming mistake. This should not happen whatever the screen definition and whatever the OS brand and version.
I didn't change my mind since I'm using C1 : the product has very good processing algorithms, very useful and effective tools but there's a problem with the UI development team. The UI has to be re-designed or at least properly re-written/checked by more experienced programmers.0 -

I generally like the UI just as it is.
With Windows 7 and a sensibly dimensioned screen for the purpose (in my opinion) that meets and marginally exceeds the minimum requirements I have no substantial problems that are worth taking time to consider any alternative layouts.
I also use some very recently developed UIs, created using new development tools, that are extremely limited compared to C1 albeit they set out to have a similar layout and design concept.
They are, however, for business applications and perhaps not designed to be especially smart for highly creative people.
I think the final part of your last paragraph is unnecessarily insulting by the way.

Grant,
Do you really need to systematically intervene each time criticism is raised against C1 and tell the world that you are so happy with the product that you don't see any room for enhancements or fixes ? Your behavior is so predictable that we can reassure you that we are all now aware of this : you're a 100% satisfied C1 user. No problem, no issue, and only minor bugs if ever. Noted. No need to repeat this again and again.

No, it's not. The UI has problems that have been reported since a long time by multiple users (I just opened a new thread about this and I only listed the main issues). Some of these problems are clearly design and programming mistakes that are usually made by beginners or people not used to UI programming. The P1 developers working on the UI code are clearly not as skilled as the ones working on the processing code. If the same team is working on both the processing code and the UI, then UI specialists should be hired.
With all due respect, it's not an insult, it's a fact.0 -
Yeah I don't know about that. Stating what you feel the problems are is an opinion not even a fact. It might be a widly held opinion but it's not a fact by any means. Making statements that the programmers arr beginners or incompetent etc. Is just insulting and does not show due respect.
I agree with Grant0 -
plus...
If your display is 800 pixels tall, this is the minimum recommended resolution. Using the minimum resolution, there are some things that can make stuff display in not so good way.
One of the things, I think, is stacked toolbars or extra/addtl. shortcut buttons. I wasn't able to display all the buttons I would prefer to see when I had my low resolution monitor and mine was 1024.
Check if my recommendation helps.0 -
Have you got the windows task bar set to autohide? This will give you a few more pixles for the Capture One display. 0
