Hide Folders Hierarchy - not working

As I don't use catalogs this was unfamiliar to me and initially slightly puzzling. I do have a couple of test catalogs so I opened one and had a look. This is using Windows 7.

I deduce that the Instruction is not so much a command to do something (although once or twice is seemed to work that way - presumable a coincidence) as setting for the tool to display either the entire folder structure under the selected folder (if there is one) or just a list of the sub folders that contain images that are referenced in the catalog.

So, for example, if I set the display to "Show Hierarchy ...." and start with my C: drive I get first

    C:
    > USERS
    >><Username>
    >>>Pictures
    >>>>Folder 1
    >>>>Folder 2

If I set Hide Hierarchy I see

    C:
    Folder 1
    Folder2

If I change the Show/Hide setting at the C: level any current sub level displays are removed so I am back to C: and expanding C: once more re-displays one or other of the outlines described above.

I suppose that is more or less what I would expect if the change of display mode is not intended to be dynamic from one mode so the other.

It is a little strange in some ways on first encounter.

It also sounds like you see something different using the Mac.

    HTH.

Yup. If I set Hide Hierarchy nothing changes--that is, until I close CO and reopen it. (Though I suspect that closing and reopening the catalog might also do the trick.)

    Feels buggy to me.

Same here on a MacBook Pro...until I restart CO the Hide Folder Hierarchy has no effect, however the menu item itself changes from Hide Folder Hierarchy back to Show Folder Hierarchy.

I put it in as a support ticket and PhaseOne replied very quickly. They can reproduce this in their lab and will fix it as part of a coming service release.

    Go PhaseOne!
