Question about one platform only plug ins

I have a non technical question: will phase one allow plugins in their list of it is only available for one platform? I can see some people not wanting to do double development at least until they see what demand is like.

  I find it strange that they dont have one common language used across Windows and Mac.
  For instance C++ is common to Win/Mac.
