Open the plugin on the plugin tab of Preferences and check the box(es) for the applications you want on the list.

The file type/app associations are passed to Capture One from Windows. You can enable this in Control Panel-
Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs > "Associate a file type or protocol with a program"

Applications are added via the Windows OS.
Use file manager to locate a suitable file eg jpg. Right click and select "open with". Browse to the program .exe file you want to use and select. Once the file has opened in the selected program you will find it listed in the C1 Preferences "plugin" tab.

    The AHA moment...

Thanks, now I understand how it works.
Hope that this will become a bit more user friendly in the future in a way that I can add applications myself in a list and can remove those again from the list.

Now I had to open the application from the windows-browser via open with, than navigate to the application, open the file and hereafter the application appeared in the list which was also pickedup by Capture one after restarting the program.

A bit of frustrating work to do, ans imo this could much more easy
Within Capture one this way of working could be improved.
Despite the fact this is a one time effort, it is not really user friendly this way.
But ok in the end it worked.
