Lab Readout and Fuji curves
I have my Lab readout set at Generic D50 and use it quite a lot in guiding edits on my primarily monochromatic work.
The default behavior now with C12 is that my Fuji RAWs are presented with the Curve in Base Characteristics set to Auto, which picks up the settings from my X-T2 (typically Acros). Which is great, I like seeing the RAWs as monochromatic.
Trouble is the Lab readout doesn't work at all in the Viewer, all three values sit at 0.00. It only works if I set the Curve to Film Standard, ignoring the Fuji associated curves and Auto. Am I missing something?

Probably just missing a few posts in the forum about some glitches in functionality when using the Fuji curves for the Film simulation.
I'm not a Fuji user so I am not specifically following them but you should be able to find them quite easily I think.
I think I am right in saying that the C1 development team are looking at the issue but in the meantime I would suggest you create a Support Case just in case what you are seeing is something that has not previously been reported even though it sounds very similar or identical.
HTH.

I did a search on Lab readouts but not specifically for Fuji curves. I'll see what's there and report a support case. 0 -
This might relate in some way.

Windows rather than Mac but I suspect that that difference will not matter.

It did. Many thanks. Seems like a bug alright. Would make more sense if instead of Auto (the default curve) it actually jumped straight to the in camera curve. Hopefully at some point we can have Lab readouts restored. Pretty vital for monochrome edits in particular. 0 -

Auto, for Fuji cameras as required by Fuji (as I understand it), will default to any Film Simulation curves that was set in camera at the time of shooting.
That seems logical compared to any other option.
If one always wanted something other than the Film Simulation set in camera I would imagine it would be possible to set up an alternative approach as part of the Import process.
As I don;t have a Fuji camera I cannot try it to verify that suggestion.
HTH.

Logical indeed and glad it works that way. I simply meant (but probably wasn’t clear) that if C1 detected a film simulation that it should jump to it in the curves pop up menu. At the moment it simply says Auto and it would be more useful if it said the actual simulation. 0 -

Ah, OK.
What it does is pretty much what happens with non-Fuji Phase developed curves but you are right it would make some sense.
It's a first release - maybe make an enhancement suggestion through a Support Case? I'm sure the developemen tteam would welcome the feedback.
