Help with filtering/displaying images in albums

I can't think of any reason to force people to lock an image into a single album.

I don't use catalogues much so I will leave the authoritative answer to someone else but I would have thought that if such a rigid constraint was desired the logical thing to do would be to move the images for an album into a folder and base the album on the contents of the folder.

Hopefully someone with a more elegant solution will provide a better insight.

    Grant,

thanks for your answer. I don't feel I am constraining myself by putting images in an album. It's not a file systems folder, just an album inside C1. So one image can live in as many folders as it wants 😉

I create lots of small sets and for me to pick the best _combination_ of images I need to see them side by side. The way albums work for me is good, I just need a way to see which images in my Capture folder are not yet in _any_ album.

    Hope this makes sense.
    Thanks

Your question seems to be the same as one of the questions in this thread:

The answer, according to that thread, is that there is no way to do this in Capture One. However, one of the posters proposed a technique to achieve the result by querying the SQL database outside Capture One (have not tried it myself).

That makes excellent sense but reads, to me, slightly differently to the original question!

As Richard has observed the subject has been discussed before and although I do not see a personal use for it in my way of working I can see how it might be useful for others.

Probably a "nice to have" feature worthy of a Support Case with "Enhancement Request:" in the title so that Phase can assess the level of interest and decide whether it should be included in the C1 development plan.
