As the camera only supports USB2, it could be faster. But why not try it out yourself? There is a 30 day trial.

As already been stated it's USB 2.0 thus it's limited to that speed, and you can just try it. Bottomline though, no other software will do it faster then C1Pro, nor will any other software support it natively like C1pro.

Either way I'm quite sure it will be faster then pulling out the card and put into the computer.. 😉

I have a client who might purchase the camera and we were wondering about the performance level tethered to C1. Just wondering if its painfully slow over usb 2. Does a version of Capture 8 work with it tethered or only C9?

    CO8 can also do it.

I cannot believe there are not many posts about this, I am also wondering the same thing. I am actually trying to decide whether to buy the A7rii and dump all my canon gear or actually replace is it as it was all stolen recently from my studio and I have to start over. My problem is I cannot even try out the A7rII where I live. I imagine there would be many people trying to use the A7rII with capture one but I guess I am mistaken...
I cannot find any information on the internet and thought of sure there would lot's of post here. I am sure I am not the only one and if you all even made a special addition sony program I figure many would have gone to the pro version, I have the pro version since day one of capture one and always have used the P30+ o canon for many years. Worried about the 48mp and mini usb bogging down the tethering. the 5dMIII was just pretty decent but would bog down sometimes..
Thanks for any more comments since this camera has been out for a while now..

tethering A7RII works really well in C1 9...the mini usb is not a problem, usb 2.0 is the bottleneck....IMO nikon D810 is the best tethering solution right now and the usb 3 connection helps a lot....
there is nothing wrong with the sony or C1 and i am sure the next sony will have usb 3 and this won't be discussed anymore....
the only way to see if the sony/C1 solution will work for you is to test it out....
if you need the fastest tethering with the best files right now nikon is the way to go....

Thanks for your reply, I have gone with the Canon 5Ds for now since I am use to Canon for 20 years and they have the USB 3.0 port, When and if sony comes out with a high megapixel camera and usb 3.0 I will maybe switch over completely. Until then is has to be Canon and Sony for Video. I some how do not think that Sony will put a usb 3.0 port in their next camera bc they most likely do not care about tethered professional shooters, Let's hope so. I might pick up an A7rII but supposedly the buffer after 6-7 shot's is LONG. I also like that the Canon 5Ds has lower megapixel option when I do not need to print huge and am shooting tethered for regular fashion or catalogue shoots where huge files are not necessary, I imagine RAWm will work nice tethered to capture one with usb 3.0 and be faster than the MarkIII was at 20 megapixels.
    Thanks for your reply.
