White balance and WhiBal

When using the Whibal grey card, the white balance picker in Capture One 6.3.2 does not work. When "clikking" on the grey card, the RGB value turns into 255/255/255. So the picker is calibrated into white, instead of grey (rgb 125/12/125). How do I turns it towards the correct RGB value ? What am I doing wrong ? Thanks for any help, the users manual does not give any answer on this subject.

  The White Balance picker does not necessarily turn the value of the selected point on the image to 125/125/125. The purpose of this tool is to neutralize the image based on a relative value. If your White Balance Values of a Grey Card are something like 123/118/132, then the White Balance Picker will neutralize these values to be as close as possible (ex. 125/126/124) without shifting the image too much.
  From your description it does not sound like you are using the White Balance picker but rather the "Highlight Level Picker" which is used to set a specific point as the image 'Highlight'. This tool does try to change the selected value to a RGB closest to 255/255/255 as possible.
  Please ensure you are using the correct tool, in this case you want to use the 'Pick White Balance (w)" tool. This can be further investigated here;

  Thanks, fot this kind answer. Yes, I was on the Color tab, White balance section, and the grey tab. There I choosed the "Pick White Balance", and clicked on a Whibal grey card. The RGb of the grey card (before) was 186/174/126, after clicking 188/187/188.

  That appears to be the proper operation of the tool. The difference from the values being at 125/125/125 would suggest the image is overexposed, adjusting the exposure should bring your values of 188/187/188 closer to 125/125/125.
