Steve,
This is some kind of OS hardware FireWire error...
If using Powerbook - you need the Portable Solution for power and compatible FW bus .
If G5 then be sure to use the FW bus in the rear and not the front and be sure FW bus is working with other devices.
If these are in order and functional, then this will warrant a Support Case so we can dig deeper.

The machine is a Intel Imac.
I have the cameras attached through a powered 1394 hub as was discussed in another thread.
The green lights on the back come on when plugged to the 1394. The phase one software searches for the camera. The back beeps once, the red lights flash once and the software gives the error message I reported.0 -
Steve,
hmmm strange error... curious if you have an EyeSight on that iMac ?
You do need to lose the powered hub. The Hback has to be the only device plugged into the FW hub. This also involves a power issue. The iMac, eMac, and Powerbook FW bus do not provide enough power to the Hbacks.

To the best of my knowledge, thats the only way they come. Isight is built in on the newer Imac.0 -
Apple has diagnosed this problem for me, it turns out to be a firewire handshaking error within CaptureOne.
Apparently the new Intel Imac is not fully supported by 3.7.30 -
Steve,
Is it possible to disable the iSight on these machines?
Thanks,
k c0
