If you have more than one variant of an image, there is a little symbol in the top left corner that looks like two small stacked squares and a triangle. That toggles seeing the variants stacked or separately. Have you tried that? (Maybe you have but I was not 100% sure from your post.)

And if you apply any filtering, make sure the new varants are shown too.
New variants don't have any ratings, tags, or keywords.

I'm having an issue to which support is slow to respond. Often, but not always, when I make adjustments to an image and save a new variant, only the most current adjusted image is available in the browser. Clicking on expand or expand all does nothing. The edits applied icon shows, but the variant icons above do not. When viewing the single image, the file name is appended with a [1] or a [2] or however many variants I create, but everything but the primary variant remains hidden. If I set up a new catalog, it will work fine for a while and then the problem occurs again. Any ideas?

I have seen something that sounds very similar. Also in V9 sometimes as I recall.

Filtering seemed to be a possibility - especially on creating a new variant since cloning variants seemed to be OK.

However have been times when no filters were reported as "in use" and missing variant numbers did indeed seem to be missing.

I think it has only happened when I have been experimenting with catalogues.

I have not yet upgraded to V10 so I do not have a way to run tests for any code that might be likely to be fixed if there is a genuine problem. So I have not reported it. As it seems to be only for new variants and not clones it is not a significant problem for me at this time. Very odd though.

The variant icon in the upper left does not appear. The only indication that a variant has been created is the number appended to the file name when the image is viewed.

I'll try assigning a rating to the edited image and see if I can filter out the unedited original variant when I get home this evening.

I can only see the variants that i create, after closing Capture one and restarting again.
It is also not possible to expand or collapse the view of the variants by using the "viewer mode" and choosing multiple or primary view. I think this is a new issue in version 10. It used to work before
