Weird File Corruption
Anyone see this with C1 20??? I just started using it today and the first tests were kicking out corrupt files that looked like this...
Computer Info:
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)
OS 10.15.5
3.6 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9
128 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Radeon Pro Vega 48 8 GB

Disabling C1 hardware acceleration may be a first checkpoint.

I’ll try killing hardware acceleration, but why is it hardware acceleration usually the culprit?!! Does hardware acceleration ever work?!! It seems that on any app that has a hardware acceleration option, I typically have to turn it off because of problems! Even on the newest, fastest, most tricked-out computers, hardware acceleration seems to be a dog that won’t hunt! 😡

I've been seeing this a lot lately. It mainly started after I upgraded to MacOS 11 (Big Sur) while still using C1-20. Not only did I see this corruption in the Viewer but I also noticed that, somehow, C1 was actually corrupting the original image in the file! I halted all work until C1-21 came out and I see it doing the same thing.
Now, here's what's weird. I keep all of my photos on external drives. The TIFF file corruption seems to occur on my 8 TB external drive. I've got backups on a 2nd external drive which has 5 TBs of storage. Both of these drives (along with two others) are on a Firewire bus. I haven't (at least not yet) seen any corruption when using the 5 TB drive.
Weird??? The 8 TB drive works fine for everything else.
