While I'd appreciate a profile for my Laowa 12mm rectilinear lens, I recognize that's probably not high up on the priority list. What I would appreciate even more is a similar facility to that provided by Adobe whereby one can create custom profiles for one's own lenses and share them with others in the (Capture One) community. While I'm at it, a facility to be able to edit the metadata to add manual lens information would be nice. Again there's a (3rd-party) plugin for Lightroom that facilitates this but nothing for Capture One that I've found.

    Mike.

Please add support for Sigma 100-400 F5-6.3 DG DN OS

This lense is becoming very popular, it was released this summer and is engineered specifically for Sony

E mount full frame. This lens is competing with Sony 100-400 GM and very affordable. It is also affordable therefore

    becoming popular.

"Please add support for Sigma 100-400 F5-6.3 DG DN OS" - Sigma lenses designed for (F)E mount shall have optics correction data written in .ARW raw file and hence "Manufacturer Profile" must be available... is it not the case ?

After I have found out that even Nikkor 50 1.8G has wrong lens profile then I suggest to add option for overriding current lens profiles (something like set as default for camera body).

Please add support for the Canon RF 24-240 f-6.3 USM.  It a popular lens (one of the kit lenses) with lots of distortion.  Without. a profile, you cannot use RAW images in Capture One, especially at the wide end.  Please!!

I would like to request a lens profile for the Canon RF 100-500 L lens.

It would also be nice to have one for the Canon EF 28-300 L lens, which I use a fair amount, but I do understand this is a less commonly used lens.

Why you guys are not able to install all major prime lenses for all cameras by ur self? Doesn't matter what. Adobe can do it. Why CP1 don’t ??? What’s the problem with that.

There is still no profile for the Canon 2x converter with the major EF lenses. I’m waiting since 2016 for a profile.

An same now withe the RF lenses. Adobe has it, even Luminar has it. Why CP1 still don’t have them.

I really love working with CP1 but if you guys not able to crate new lens profiles for major prime lenses after they coming out you will never get closer to Adobe. For most user the accurate lens profiles are important to work with.

So please at the major prime lenses as soon as possible.

And if you ask for my personal lenses

    All Canan RF Prime lenses
    24-70 2.8 15-35 2.8 70-200 2.8 etc.
incl Tele Converter 1.4 and 2.0

    Thanks Hans

Can I suggest that the C1 team partially breaks the "no comment" rules when considering this topic?

When the lens profiles exercise started out modern digital lenses used by the C1 target market were mainly reliant on optical design and could therefore have inaccuracies that could not be "designed out" but could be corrected by the newly available software for image processing of files from digital cameras - provided the cameras made the necessary data available.

Then M43 arrived and to obtain the small size and light weight the optical designs for the lenses were compromises that required in-camera digital correction in order to provide an acceptable result.

The concept of making optical design less restrictive by deploying data correction values for a lens from the lens to the camera has now spread to most new lenses unless they are manual only designs. This makes design easier, corrections more flexible, manufacturing cheaper (important in a mature and possibly declining market) and, presumably, potential profit greater.

Assuming the lens and camera manufacturers know what they are doing and what the target market for individual products will be (and therefore the likely expectations of the buyers) it seems probably that they will be supplying some good to excellent adjustments, direct from their lab testing, themselves as "Manufacturer" profiles (in C1 terminology).

If so they may not be too pleased for a business partner to make new profiles that suggest the supplied profiles are lacking something.

If they ARE supplying good adjustments and perhaps adjustments specifically tweaked to different bodies and other accessories like extenders, there would seem to be little benefit in attempting to go through the exercise of creating additional C1 profiles anyway.  Nothing to be gained other than adding a name on a list.

If my observation is correct (in so far as it applies to new lenses but not legacy lenses) then explaining that the Manufacturer support is likely as good as it will get would make sense and probably greatly reduce the size of this thread.

Alternatively just copy the Manufacturer settings and name the profile for the lens and make it available on the supported list.

I suspect you would still see comments about the need to make the "Manufacturer" settings the default default because they are better then the C1 assessments but then such things are unavoidable within a diverse group of users.

In my opinion making a formal statement about the criteria for considering special C1 lens correction analysis in addition to the Manufacturer corrections would make a lot of marketing sense as things stand now in the lens manufacturing arena.

On the other hand of C1 marketing sees having a complete list of supported lenses as an important factor then someone need to bite the bullet and set up a fast testing regime that covers the majority of new lens releases and a way to make them available by download rather than having to wait for some future release.

If that is not possible or necessary then someone needs to explain the reasons (clearly) to the mass market of potential C1 users.

Just my opinion of course but I suspect it would clear up a lot of "confusion".
