    Daniel,

If you are zoomed in the space bar is the default feature for navigating around the image. It uses the currently available viewing area to show you what you can display.

Personally I find it extremely useful. Especially since it can be used without leaving an active tool.

What problem do you have with the window?

I am used to controlling with photoshop where I just press space (Or lightroom where you just drag), click down to move, however doing that with capture will click the popup window and move me to a completely different part of the photo. I find that the little popup window does not offer fine enough control for my liking, so I prefer just dragging on the image instead.

Daniel, I agree with you. I find that pop up window to add nothing, it make it harder as like you, a lot of times I end up in the wrong part of the photo.

Just hit H and use the "Hand" tool to move the zoomed image around.

Then reselect whatever tool you were using before.

However if you persevere with discovering the Navigator's functionality you might also find some benefits form it that are are simply different ways of doing what you are used to doing. Sometimes they may turn out to be better after some time of use. Sometimes not.
