I can't tell you about the 5700XT vs the 6800XT. But i replaced the 5700XT with a 3090 Nvidia card, and Capture One v20 was dramatically faster in all operations. The new version 21 has some clear bugs and performance is not what it used to be.

CaptureOne uses the GPU for a lot of things, and it will of course depend on your resolution setup if you notice this (I am running a 4K screen) more or less. In my case, browsing the session went from 0.5sec to 2sec delays when displaying images to 0. it's just instant.

Again, that was v20. In v21, nothing really in instant right now, but I am pretty sure the next update will fix that.

Frank, Could you Check what your OpenCL Score is with the 3090?

    Have a look at C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\CaptureOne\logs\ImgCore.log
Right at the start of this text file you will see a section about your graphics card, it even includes a benchmark figure, on my machine my old Nvidia 960 card scored 0.22143 while my new AMD Radeon Pro WX5100 scored 0.14464 which is apparently pretty good. This should give a guide to how well your card works.

    I am getting:

    OpenCL benchMark : 0.019216

beats me if that's good, but if lower is better...

I would say that’s quite good. My 2070 Super has 0.035xxxx

Now I only need the stats for a 3080 to decide. 🤣

Looked into it, my 5700XT here at home is:

    2021-01-09 07:59:15.111> OpenCL benchMark : 0.039810

I'll check and see what the 1650 does when I get to the office later this afternoon
