I don't think that is quite it. It will take time to develop new profiles, and this is at least a way of finding out which models are most popular with users so that they can be prioritised.

Yes I get your point, too. But I suppose the only other ways would be to

    • not release the ProStandard profiles for any cameras until they had created them for all models - which would take a very long time, I should think; or
    • release them as and when each one has been done, but don't ask your users which are most important to them, which is a sort of "we know best, never mind what the users want" approach.

They don't seem like better approaches to me either!

And how do you get on with the existing profile for that camera?

    Julian,

I think your idea would go down like a lead balloon for those who most frequent this forum.

As a business proposition I see a lot of admin, all sort of extra complexities for control and management and billing, etc.

When, 2 or 3 versions down the line, the new processing approach becomes "standard" and so part of the general release would those that have been paying a premium be happy?

Heck, it's bad enough that as a Canon user all of the development that has been included for Fujitsu (Film simulations - probably already accounting for the "ProStandard" functionality unless the two concepts are incompatible - are something for which I am not offered any equivalent.

    Ditto Nikon.

And at least Sony make sure their lens correct data is passed on to the editor software. Canon users, it seems (about 40 or 50% of the market if excluding phone cameras?), don't get any of it.

If you saw the early releases and presentations you may recall that it was mentioned that the first bodies selected for development of the Pro-Standard profiles represent the bodies that C1 users use to work with about 60% of all images taken (plus the most commonly used Phase Cameras of course).

C1 likely know what the mix is for "the rest". The question, in terms of prioritization, is simply asking who cares about it and who cares the most. Then maybe filter out those with really old bodies (or at least shuffle them down the queue since they might well be upgrading soon anyway) and see what is left. That then provides a working list of those cameras whose owners "claim" to need the new profiles.

Having observed the responses for the very similar options to request lens profile support it might be easier to simply list all lenses ever made, mark the ones that will absolutely NOT be considered, assume that human nature is to simply expect everything as long as it is free and work out the best way to appear to make it possible to show a dedicated profile is available for all lenses except those on the exclusion list.

Another approach would be to make it available for the premium Enterprise version. That might limit the number of bodies that need to be considered. It would also fit with your "pay for it" proposal in a somewhat logical way.

Remember this feature already comes as standard with the main rival of Capture One and is a fundamental feature IMO not something that should be sold as ground breaking. Its something at present, unless introduced will put me off upgrading to the latest version of Capture one simples. I’m sure I am very much not alone.

I’m sure like this thread is designed to be it is because of the number of tickets which have been raised previously and have disappeared into the woodwork. This method will allow Capture One to track, and make an informed decision. I think this is a fair way of doing it thanks Capture One.

Well, if you claim to be a *professional* RAW editing software, *ALL* the pro cameras should be covered.

Nikon D5 and D6 amongst other.

When opening a ProRAW dog, the color rendition is way off.   This is with all default settings and no styles used.  I compared the live scene with the photo on the iPhone and with the image in C1P on a calibrated monitor.   The image rendition by C1P was darker and more golden.  Major while balance changes had to be made for a start.

Good chance there will be more iPhone 12 units shooting ProRAW than many cameras from other vendors.  The ProRAW file can be a great backup when other cameras are not available.   PhaseOne needs to make sure iPhone 12 owners do not have to go elsewhere.

It would be a good idea to create a download page for the newly added profiles so that people won't have to wait for upcoming updates to get their profiles and they're available as soon as they're finished.

Leica Q2 would be very much appreciated. At least by me (as I don't see anyone else asking for it..)

If there are anyone else with the same request - I have found a third party style pack which makes a substantial improvement on the result; "Kyle May Portra 400 pack".

P.S. - This "new" feature is vaporware until all modern in production cameras otherwise supported by C1 are supported. You've really announced an intent to develop. Cheers!

    +1 for 6D
This still gets a lot of use in the ecomm studio I freelance at

    A7R - Original.
I know it's an older body, but I still use it for architecture and art documentation. Great sensor and its limitations are largely mitigated by tripod use.

The Leica M10-R has no profile and is not listed in Capture One's list of Leica cameras -

    https://www.captureone.com/en/resources/tech-specs/camera-support-leica

Hoping to see ProStandard or something soon.  The M10-R has been out for ~6 months.

    Thank you.
