Capture One wont recognize camera
I have a 2020 Macbook Pro with the M1 chip with Capture One 21. Attached the tether to the Canon Mark IV and the Macbook Pro and an Error message displays :
Description: The request did not complete within the specified timeout period. This can occur if the camera contains large amounts of JPEG images
Domain: com.phaseone.captureone
There isn't any JPEGs on the camera, as there isn't a memory card in it. And to top it all off, when I tether to a display monitor plugged into the Macbook, Capture One DOES recognize the camera. Tested all of the ports on the Macbook, and they all work fine. Ideas on how to remedy this issue? I can't always be plugged into my display, as I do location jobs outside, but still need to tether to the Macbook. Thanks!

Tethering doesn’t work on M1 machines.... they’ve announced they’ll support M1 within next 4 months, after nearly 1 year when Apple has distributed M1 DTKs to developers. Such a great company. Apple.

I found the solution! Plug USB 2.0 cable instead 3.0 into camera. It would look strange since you are plugging only half of a slot, but it works!
